Different RDs,,, different answers. Mine would not give me more than 3 a
year in any one place.

my foot/ankle doc said he usually won't give more than 2 in a
particular area in one year, but that my foot and ankle joints are so
screwed up, he can't do them much harm by giving me more. (i'm
paraphrasing, but you get the idea. i'm trying to tough it out to only
getting 3 a year).

Hi June,
Our bartender at the Moose is allowed 3/year. That is all I know....

I think in 2004, I had three in each wrist, one in the side of my left
shoulder, and one down through the top of the shoulder. In 2005 I had a
horrid experience with a shot in my left ankle.
I requested another wrist shot in 05, but doc turned me down flat.
So I guess the 2-3 in one joint over one year period seems about the
limit.

I'm confused about the ankle. One of mine gets nearly frozen at times and
this last winter I asked for a shot and was told they can't give them in an
ankle due to the bone structure. My rheumatologist said that joint is like
a saddle on top of the foot and no way to get directly into the joint.
Hearing your experience, I'm glad he didn't even attempt it. Yowza!
