okay - the hospital is saying 8 more weeks of rehab for Diane - shall we
start bets on how long it takes for her to get out. She can sit on the side
of the bed, the food stinks, she managed a shower (of course 2 people were
standing there watching her but what the heck), can manage the slide board
into her wheelchair, can laugh, and ordered Diane Chamberlain's latest book
from her room (see she is still bright!), knows how to phone BC Canada for
support and can answer the phone the other direction. The stomach is
starting to get a bit less sore and she can roll over on her side now. They
are still doing the antibiotics and catheter came out today! So she is
improving. Was asking how everyone was and must admit that I am not having
enough time to follow everyone but sent the wishes I had been given. She
gave me advice on ordering my scooter next week (my van arrives next week,
the scooterr will take 2 weeks and the lift 2 - 3). We are both doing muscle
stims for our legs so commisserated (spelling is lousy!) together. But
sense of humour stays.

I am going on a quilt retreat with 8 great friends to Pearson World College
this weekend. Only taking 1 day of class and hope I can handle it - taking
my pain killers just in case. It will be lots of fun, right beside the most
beautiful inlet in BC, with a swimming pool and the best food and the best
friends - the kind that say they will get you through this no matter what!
I intend to take the other 2 days finishing projects I have started and
starting new but easy projects - I have a baby quilt to bind for example.
Great for the soul (oh and did invest in a bottle of sangria and some
tequila coolers (not that I will drink any you know! Not much of a drinker
but......)

So don't get into any trouble over the weekend. Char - Diane specially
asked how you are? I said I may have missed a post but last time I read the
30 mg of prednisone was helping. Is that still true??

Take care everyone. (oh by the way I am off valium and back driving certain
times of the day and in short distances. - It feels like heaven).

thanks Becky - it will be. I am going for my weekly accupuncture in the
morning so will be ready to be picked up from there at 1:00. That always
relaxes me so that is good.

great update, kelly. i particularly like the "ordering my new book"
part. :-) hope she enjoyes it.

your quilt retreat sounds wonderful! have you read emilie richards
quilt series? she's a good friend and writes wonderful family stories
that play off quilts.

i think of both you and diane w often and send you healing thoughts.

Kelly,

It is so good hearing you sound so optomistic. You've come a long way
since you joined our group. You have really hung in there and I'm
proud of you and proud for you. You have over come so much and I know
you've worked hard to get where you are.

I'm sure Diane is going to do just as well with her wonderful attitude.
I'm glad you have each other for encouragement.

Kelly,

Sending my love, prayers, thoughts to both you and Diane. Boy it is such a
long road ahead for the both of you.

I sure hope things turn around for you both really soon.

You both are in my thoughts daily. Alot of others are too.

I hope you have fun on the quilt retreat. I will be thinking of you.
