Stinkweed - 04 Jun 2006 15:00 GMT Hi I should have introduced myself before posting, I am known as Stinkweed, or Stinky, or Stinky poo, Stinksnot or just about anything you can put with Stinky in another group I get called it, as I am a big tease. I got the nick name from my brother when I recently asked him why he started calling me that he said because I love you. Anyway I use the name on the net, Actually there are some people who call me by my real name, "Sharon". I'm a wife, mother and granny and I guess with a real name of Sharon, you know I am a female. I have a good deal wrong with me, I have Arthritis, had cancer, have FM, have trigeminal nerve pain, have migraines and I have to take the warfrin because I got blood clots and they found out that I have a defective gene that causes them I also have a few insignificant other things. If there is anyone in here with Trigeminal nerve pain I sure want to talk to you. I only know one other person with it. My grandmother had it and so did my uncle. It isn't suppose to be hereditary, but I question that. I live in Wisconsin and on a lake and I absolutely love it here, it has been a dream I have always had and it was able to be fulfilled, it is so tranquil looking out at the lake. We have a boat and the kids come when they can to fish. I feel so priveledged to be here. I have a lot faith in God although I have been delt a lot of things in my life time, I'm sure God has a reason for all of it. I can get depressed pretty easy and I don't like going there, that is really bad for me. I hope I have covered about everything, if you all have any questions I will try to ans. them. Right now I am going through some pretty bad migraines, I have been having them daily and am under doctors care for them.

Jean - 04 Jun 2006 19:00 GMT Hi Sharon,
I don't have trigeminal neuralgia but my brother has it and so did my mother. I know the agony my mother was in for many years. Brother's pain is somewhat controlled, but any breeze will set it off.
The docs have told my brother that it's not hereditary, also. Not sure I believe it!!
My best to you!!
Jean

Stinkweed - 08 Jun 2006 04:56 GMT Thanks Jean, I just found where my introduction went. I wrote another one thinking it didn't show up and now I have two introductions. My trigeminal neuralgia is controlled to, I don't know what sets mine off, it isn't breeze though. Mine seems to be centered in the mouth and nose area. Some times I have to use the stuff dentists use to numb my mouth to brush my teeth. I have a horrible memory so--- Lidicane I think the name is. It totally numbs my mouth on the left side and works quite well. But most of the time the medication I take daily keeps it under control. I'm getting ready for a bad time again though as the skin at the left side of the nose is getting pretty tender again. I know only one other living person who has this. I would love to talk to your brother. I wish there was a group for this, but I sure can't find one.

DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 04 Jun 2006 23:24 GMT Welcome to the group, Stinky. Sorry, though that you've got arthritis on top of everything else. Gettin' old ain't for the weak!! I am DeeTee and I have OA, DDD, DJD, Costochrondritis, Sjogren's Syndrome, FMS, and some kind of inflammatory arthritis that my RD has yet to put a name to. I manage okay, sort of, but the people here keep me going. Welcome to our particular sandbox.

Stinkweed - 08 Jun 2006 05:01 GMT Thanks DeeTee, Boy it sure isn't for the weak is it getting old. I often think about those wonderful golden years I always heard about. I'm not familiar with the abbreviations of diseases. I don't know what DDD or DJD are? I have not heard of some of the rest I will have to look them up. But {{{Hugs}}} they don't sound good. Just being silly keeps me going most of the time.

Hi Stinkweed,
What lake are you on? I used to live on Pewaukee with a Delafield mailing address. Absolutely loved the lifestyle and miss it to this day. It's been about 20 yrs since I lived there. GaryZ
ladylove77 - 05 Jun 2006 19:05 GMT Stinkweed, during the Korean "Conflict", my husband was stationed at then "Camp" McCoy. He was a cook so he was on 24 and off 24, from noon to noon. We were there during the winter and his tires would freeze to the ground and he would have to pour boiling water on them to get unstuck. He threatened not to come home again untill spring! We had a two year old and a new baby born in Georiga in September and he took us back on Christmas day. We left Georgia wearing short sleeves and when we got to Sparta, Wisconsin it was 20 below. Diapers would freeze on the line outside and then I'd bring them in to dry. We lived in the house with an older couple who were so sweet. But she sure spoiled my son; she would not let him cry. If he started, she would come get him and rock him and sing to him, and taught our 2 year old daughter lots of nursery rhymes. I have very good memories of living in Wisconsin. We enjoyed going to the Dells. Gwen

We are snow birds and always go somewhere warm for the winter. But I think this coming winter we may just stay home and experience a Wisconsin winter. It has to be absolutely gorgeous on the lake. We moved here 4 years ago from the Chicago area. I love it here, the people are so friendly it is unbelievable. One strange thing also is many leave their keys in the car with the car running. Or to go shopping. I just can't get used to this kind of living. In Chicago there would be no car to go back to. But old habits die hard, we still lock up.

In the area of Wautoma, Does that help I have only lived here for 4 years, but absolutely love it. It is like being on vacation all the time. How could you leave this type of living? I hope to stay here till I die or have to go into a nursing home. Do you live in Wisconsin now?
GARY Z - 08 Jun 2006 11:35 GMT Hi Stinkweed, Didn't mean to ask for too specific information. I know the general area and it is very, very nice. The choice in leaving wasn't all mine, but a combination of events. :-( I don't live in Wis. now. I've taken employment in N. Illinois for some 20 yrs now. Quite a change of scenery from where I was! Stinkweed - 08 Jun 2006 19:36 GMT You never know who is reading Gary, I'm glad you understand. It is lovely here, I am out in the country but there are lots of people living around the lake with us so that is just as perfect as you can get. I used to live in Des Plaines Illinois, we lived there for around 40 years, I loved it there too as we were in a very nice area, country setting but 10 min. from stores. That is about the only thing I miss though, here you have to travel lots of miles to go where you want.
