IF it were me, and the doc said it was allergies, yes - I would take
the Enbrel.
Sorry you had to cancel your trip.
I am dealing with sinus problems and headaches too....we had about a
week and a half of rain, so the allergies were'nt bad, but my body was
a wreck.
Now the sun is finally out, allergies are back and body aches are
slowly improving.
Good luck Becky,
Char
What I'd do is try some Tylenol Allergy/Sinus or Advil Allergy/Sinus. If
those don't ease the pressure try an old fashioned decongestant pill like
Dristan. If THAT doesn't work ask your doc for an Rx for an allergy spray
such as Flonase or Nasonex.
As soon as one of these starts working for you and you're grabbing the
tissues for the nasal drainage that's when you go back on the Enbrel and MTX
because it really is allergies. My family and I have tried all of the
allergy/sinus treatments there are at one time or another. For me myself
it's ye olde Dristan that works.
Good luck!
Hugs from Rosie

Thanks for all the information, just go from the doc and he said he wants a
ct scan on the sinuses and gave me a short 3 days prescription of
prednisone, it will clear allergies, sinus inflammation and arthritis or at
least help with it, he also said that the turbinate (sp) in my nose are
really big and swollen, so the ct scan will show it there is an infection
part. He told me he can tell me by Friday and then decide then about the
trip, although 109 degree weather really doesn't sound like much of a
vacation!
But thanks again
Becky

If they are reasonably certain there is no bacterial infection, I s'pose it
would be ok to restart Enbrel. I'd probably put a call into the doc to get
his/her input.
On the sinus front, have you tried irrigating your sinuses? There are a
number of us who do that to help manage the congestion and we've discussed it
a lot in the past. It does help wach out all of that crud and removes some
of the allergans our bodies react to. Do they have you on deongestants with
all the rest of this? And have you been on a 3 day course of nose spray to
get out the crud? I've been through so many sinus infections and majorly
congested episodes in the past, I know lots of the tricks!

Hi Nann,
Yes I am doing all of it. The doctor put me on a short 3 day course of
prednisone, I just got upa nd I feel so much WORSE from it is unreal. I
haven't taken it in a long time, it did help the swelling in my face but has
given me a terrible headache on top my head and I have ZERO energy.
The pain in my wrists and feet are really bad and I am sure it is from
missing the weeks of the ebnrel and then no mtx last week.
I am really tired of trying new things, the prednisone also makes you have
terrible night sweats and he said it would give me lots of energy not me I
could sleep all day.
Thanks
