Hi everyone - sorry I have been so quiet. The RA is flaring, and we have
been getting the house ready to put on the market (read - major reno job.)
It is now on the market and we just wait. We are in the country although 5
minutes from car from the city but since the MS like symptoms I can't drive
or look after 3000 sq ft house and a 1/2 acre garden so we are selling and
will buy again close to somewhere I can get to by scooter if necessary
(which it would be right now.
Anyhow this is to let you know about Diane DiWitt. Direct quote from Nick -
her son .
Hi kelly, this is Dianes son Nick
She wanted me to write you to tell you that she was in the hospital with a
perferated intestine and to alert the news group as well. She's doing much
better now, she broke a fever and her pain has subsided a good bit, but
she's still in the hospital and the doctors are still trying to figure out
how to fix it. She just wanted me to write and let you know and have you
tell the news group as well.
Thanks,
Nick
So the ASA prayer group needs to be reactivated. I will phone her tomorrow
to see how she is doing but won't be near a computer until Monday to tell
everyone.
On my field, the valium that is controlling the spasming a little is making
me wired but that is okay. I talk nonstop even in my mind. Hate it but
what the heck. They redid the MRI's since it has been 7 months and
basically no change with the exception of the meds and what I am doing. No
lesions so he is sure I have not got MS. He suggested maybe some weird
virus, or the enbrel or he doesn't know - maybe some "Nuisance condition".
He welcomes the opinion of the lady I am going to in Seattle. Have an
appointment with the head of the neurology department there in end of May.
I am sick of being in so much pain and being so isolated not driving. This
week has been a dream. My mom is "babysitting" me since I can't be left
alone to bathe or cook at the end of the day so we have been driving
everywhere. I really should be paying her for gas. We are off to Nanaimo
tomorrow and Vancouver on Wednesday and i will come back on Saturday I
think. The house got listed on the real estate companies website yesterday
and we had someone through today. Signs went up today and we have someone
coming through on Monday. I am thrilled and hoping it sells fast. (I have
my eye on another house that no one else is quite wild about but I think I
could change their mind.
Anyhow think of all of you often. rose - my daughter in law is waiting for
her approval of TOC and she will start working. The teaching certificate is
in the mail so that is great! She is so excited. She is wanting senior
high or maybe junior high math, band and choir. has a mass of teachers
just waiting for approval so they can take their sick leave before June. Am
really proud of her - her practicum went well.
Anyhow - babbled for too long. the valium really wires me - suppose to calm
people down. time to make dinner. Keep Diane in your prayers - she needs
them - it has been a really tough start to the year.

Yikes, kelly, this is scary news about Di Witt. I hope that all works
out well for her and will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Congrats on the D-I-L completing her Education. I am confident that
she will get a full time job quickly given that she wants Jr high and
has the music specialty.
I hope that your house sells quickly.
I hate that stage when you have to be ready at all times for people to
traipse through.
Sorry to hear that there has been no improvement in your MS like
symptoms. I will keep hoping and praying for you too.

My family won't let me near a car - I wish DeeTee. i miss my independence
so much but I am a space cadet and really spinny with the valium and the eye
sight is bad with this. So I don't drive - but I wish ...... I can do that
can't I?

Sure, Sweetie - We can all wish. I wish they'd let me ride roller coasters
again, but that's out. And I wish....oh, wait a minute, this is your post.
Never mind. :P

Kelly, thanks for passing on the news, though it is not good for either you
or Diane. I hope your house will sell quickly so you will be close to
wherever you need to go. Enjoy your mom being there while you can. Hope
the appointment in Seattle will be a very good one and you will get more
information about what is causing your problems. Then when you know what it
is, pray it will be corrected.
Congratulations to your DIL. It's so nice to reach a goal you have been
working for. May she get just exactly what will make her happy in teaching.
Can't imagine having a perforated intestine; what in the world would cause
that with no recent surgery to allow for a snip in the wrong place. Surely
hope and pray that this will heal quickly and the pain will be gone
completely. Thanks for letting us know.

Had a good talk with Diane this morning. Her fever has broken and they are
hoping the intestine will heal on its own while she is in the hospital.
Back on meds as she has a uti and I believe tube feeding (but don't quote
me - the valium you know.) Just keep good thoughts going her way - she is
going to pull through all this but it is a struggle. She can't take her
usual ms meds for spasticity because they cannot be taken by iv. But she
sounded positive this morning.
i'll keep you posted.

THanks Jo.,
Heard from Diane and it is still not great. She has left me a message and
the rupture of the intestine has caused a absess in her pelvic so they are
putting her under tomorrow and they are draining it. Good thoughts are
definitely called for. This was a couple of days ago (I have been in
Vancouver and couldn't post but she had left a message on my phone.) Will
call when I hear more.
I suspect she is bored out of her tree as well. Good thoughts everyone - we
need her out of the hospital and well again.
I am home again - glad to be here as I have done way too much for me this
last three weeks. The house is up for sale though and hopefully it will go
quickly. the site is http://www.holmesrealty.com/properties/index.html
house 214752. It looks spectacular after all the renos. Still some minor
gardening left to do.
Off to have a nap and then I am going to do some quilting. My soul needs
it.

Scary stuff, Kelly. Thanks for letting us know about DianeW.
We must remember her in our prayers.
Your house looks beautiful, and I do hope it sells quickly. I am sure
that you had a spectacular view.

Kelly, the house is beautiful. But how in the world do you manage to keep
it clean? It is so big. I hope it will sell
quickly so you can finish with the moving, etc, and then hope you can get
some rest.

I have to thank my mom and 2 storage lockers of stuff that has already been
moved into. Should make moving easy - hope it sells fast. I have a once a
week housekeeper now too so that should help but mom says if I can just keep
everything in its place (direct quote - of course the pictures were taken
while the dog was in the kennel and there was no rain or mud outside).
Literally though we have pared everything down to minimum. Have done this
before - makes moving and selling easier.
Just hope the price is right. Nothing to compare it to right now and it has
no garage (we turned that into a multi-purpose room) and that matters to
some people. It is essentially excellent for someone with a disability
though - I never go upstairs - only the housekeepers, the kids and guests
do. The yard is too big for me right now though. And we are in the country
although only 5 minutes by car to the town. That makes a difference when
you can't drive though - scooters don't go that far.
Anyhow off to bed. Will call Diane tomorrow and see how she fared. This is
turning out to be a bit of a nightmare for her.

Kelly, thanks so much for keeping up with DianeW for us. She has had such an
awful year and each new thing seems even worse. Let her knw she is in our
prayers.
Your house is beautiful! It's a shame you need to move into town, but maybe
you can find something easier to keep up. I often feel like I'm drowning
just trying to keep up with our relatively small 3/1. (there is a second
bathroom in the basement but I leave that one to Mike. Having seen how
little he cleans it, I'm now scared to go in there anyway! LOL) Oh, and
this cat we added last winter hasn't helped much with all the fur he's been
shedding!
I hope your house sells quickly. As beautiful as it is and with all the prep
you've done to help it sell, I'm sure it will. Then you can get settled
elsewhere before winter and have some access to town while you are beating
down this crud that has seized you.
