Just wondered how long I need to take this before it starts working. I am taking Glucosamine/Chondroitin 1500/1200. My knees hurt. Thanks Jane Jane, I don't take it but they gave it to my mom who has osteo arthritis in her knees, her doctor told her she would notice something in about 3 weeks if it was going to help, said that it doesn't help everyone though. You can only try and if it works it is a good alternative to take. I've been on it close to 2 years just because my Rheumy said to, and there isn't any difference at all, if pain is a factor. Is it possible that the benefits can be *invisible*, much like FM? Thank you all! I think that the brand also makes a difference. I started with just the generic from the local pharmacy. I found it helped in only a couple of weeks. But after several months, I felt like it was not helping any more so I stopped. The pain did not change. My ortho then recommended another brand which I tried. More expensive but I was amazed at the difference in 3 weeks. It has some other stuff in it. This is the name and the reference. Because of the other things in it, I would suggest getting clearance from your MD before trying it. I am not affiliated with the company. It just works for me. Never works for me, ever. Cheers Lee O. I'd love to get rid of one more med (or supplement), as in this case. I think I'll finish this bottle, then stop and see what, if anything happens.
