Did anyone lose a remission? Because I think I have found one. It has
been about 3 wks now, but I am still holding my breath. I am on 30mgs
of prednisone, so I an pretty sure that is what has done it. But I
have regained so much that I thought was gone forever. Pre 30mgs I
couldnt really walk, only a painful shuffle. I can walk agan!! Pre 30
mgs I couldnt get myself out of bed, It is still not easy, but now I
can do it!! I had PT and a home health aide and a nurse coming in,
because there were days I couldnt even feed myself. Myron had to take
a 2hr lunch so he could come home and take care of me. Thank God his
Boss was so understanding. But folks it had gotten really really bad.
But no more. I have found a miracle. I am well aware of the dangers
of pred, but I am willing to take those risks, I have gotten back part
of my life that I thought was gone forever. I will NOT give it up to
avoid the dangers of pred. So dont anyone give the lecture on the
dangers of pred. Just be happy for me.
Anybody need their butt kicked? I think I could do it now. LOL.
LOVE to all,
Mama Char

LOLOLOL,,,,,, I loved this post. I only went through 5 months of being
bedridden and even then it was not as bad as what Char has had to deal with.
I did gain the knowledge of what it is like to loose all hope and how great
it is to take a shower by myself,,, go to the bathroom by myself.
Say what you will about prednisone,,,, this is what it is for and why I
keep a months supply just sitting there. Please do not over doooo just
because you can now. A fall, a slip could set your recovery back a great
deal. Now that things are improving,,,, its baby steps in the right
direction and we will get there. None of the butt kicking you are going to
do is for your better half. There is a man that meant what he said when he
got married. Bless him,,, bless you and may God give you the strength to
look forward to tomorrow.

I hereby give you permission to hang on to the remission forever. LOL
It is great to hear that the pred is helping. We all know the evils of
pred, but if it is helping, why not take it? Being bedridden is not
good either.
Does this mean you are back at ASA?

Take the pred and have a life--don't take the pred and huddle in a fetal

Char,
I am glad for you that you have found something that works for you. I have
never tried prednisone since the RA but had it before for a neck issue and
it sure helped/
I hope that your remission last a long long time.

So glad to see you posting in the positive. I have that same love hate
of the drug. Actually, went up to 30 to make the move to CA and have
been slowly tapering down. Am nearly to the 7 mg on all 7 days from the
half 7 and half 8 I had been doing and dropping that last 1 mg has been
a killer. Finally gave in today and took pain pills. It is always something.
Being able to walk again is a joy.
Give that big teddy bear man a hug and don't over do. You know, like KJ.
No pond building and that is an order.

I'm not about to lecture you on the dangers of pred! LOL You know the side
efffects all too well and sometimes there just are times when you have to
risk them. And after all, other health problems are avoided by being able to
get up and move around!
Having been so bad for so long, you probably have to go through some
reconditioning, but I hope it just gets better and better. Maybe after it's
been knocked down some, they'll be able to reduce the pred dosage some.
Heck, do what ya gotta do - you deserve to have a life!
I'm so glad to ehar *something* is helping! You've had a prominent spot on
my prayer list for so long now.........

Glad you are feeling better, Char. That prednisone is amazing stuff. I take
Enbrel and MTX but I've recently been using a little prednisone. It would be
great if we just all got better forever and ever.

Yay!!!!!Mama Char!!!!!!!
SO great to hear from you!!!!!!!
No lectures about pred. It's the same thing my Mom is doing and she feels
about as good as when she was on Kinneret.
We all do what ultinately makes our lives more manageable. With my mom, they
are providing periodic bone scans and one of those drugs for maintaining
healthy bones.
