Dear Folks,
My son turned nineteen yesterday! And he made the mistake of going to
the podiatrist with me. Well, his orthodics were in and so he endured
a fitting. While he was talking to the podiatrist, he mentioned a pain
in his foot. I knew that it was there. The doctor checked carefully
and declared it a neuroma, scheduling surgery next month. Later the
same day his choir director sent my son an invitation to his wedding
for two days following surgery! My son insists on going! I've had
this surgery done in 2001 but don't remember how quick I felt up to
this type of thing. Since we have to RSVP, we need ideas. Any
suggestions?
Oh the joys of motherhood,
Vickie B.
I have to go to the wedding. I'm on the board of the choir! And I'd
love to see it!

I'd hate to have a healing foot at such a celebration! Can you call the
podiatrist and see about rescheduling the surgery for post-wedding?

If I remember correctly, when I had one done on the sole of my foot,
it was much better after the surgery and all I needed was a bandaid.
I would check with the doctor to make sure. Good luck
Enjoy the wedding.

If I remember correctly, I got fitted with a walking shoe [one of those
attractive blue things which doesn't give when you walk]. So walking
wasn't a problem at all. Do you think he will comply with that blue shoe
at the wedding? Don't remember much more because I talked my hand
surgeon and my foot surgeon into operating on me the same day. They put
me under once, I had one hospital stay and one recoup time. Had to fight
the insurance company about it because they are idiots. Their reason was
that no one had done it before. When I pointed out that I would tell
their supervisor that they didn't think saving the company two hospital
stays, two anesthesiologist, two sets of lab preps, etc., was a good
idea, they relented and gave the okay. just duh

Duckie! The insurance said the same thing when I delivered Twins! My
pediatrician was so mad! He asked them, "You've never heard of twins?"
Insurance folks are really stupid sometimes!

Did they want you to put one back?
Duckie just shaking her head...
