My doctor gave me a prescription for diclofenac (voltaren) 75mg take 2 times a day and then the same prescription for 50mg take at bedtime. I am a little confused I tried to call his office but he was closed on Friday after I got it filled, he had called it in. The pharmacist said that usually it is once in the morning and once in the evening. Has anyone else had this for 3 times a day, I assume he meant one in the morning afternoon and bedtime but that seems like a lot of medication. thanks Becky I take it only ONCE a day--100 mgs. My doc is trying to avoid avoid giving me higher doses-- (I guess brcause I had BAD bronchitis last year and the Zithromax--was way too strong that I spent 4 1/2 days in the Hospital) I take Tylenol Arthritis 650 mg/tablet when pain persists or doesn't go away. I had a recent chem panel done to see if liver and kidneys are functioning well. They are......... I'd still question your doctor........"Why so much Doc?" Bonnie Hi Becky. Splodge You can get diclofenac and diclofenac retard (or slow release). The second one lasts longer than the first. It would be usual I think to take the retard once a day and the other one twice. In either case the max dose would be about 100 mg per day, rarely any more. Peter I would definitely be asking the RD. I take 10 mg xr once a day and then have a scrip for 50 mg that I can take in the evening if I'm having a lot of swelling. But I'm always forgetting that middle of the day dose, so in reality, I'm only taking it twice a day. And that is working ok for now. Haven't gone out in the garden, yet.
