Well, we found a house we really, really like and now just have to figure
out how to pay for it. LOL It's not terribly expensive but the DH hasn't yet
started his new job. I downloaded our credit reports today and we appear to
be in pretty good shape that way. We're still on a lease here until August,
but it'll take that long to arrange financing, do the fix ups (the current
wall colors are horrid!!) and other odds and ends to make it livable by us,
then go to closing, etc. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us.

The house is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath ranch with 2-car attached garage. It's on a
cul-de-sac road. It has a deck, a bay window-eat in alcove in the kitchen, a
gas log fireplace, and beautiful ceiling fans in every room (including in
the master bathroom). The floors are percale wood (I think that's what
they're called) so I won't have to deal with carpeting allergies, and
there's a huge plant shelf in the master bedroom. Half of the basement is
usable as a rec/exercise room so we wouldn't have to have the treadmill in
the bedroom. The laundry is in a closet affair off the kitchen. There is an
island in the kitchen (something I've always wanted). The back yard is
fenced and the home is in a nearby subdivision here in Pataskala. They even
have burgundy trim on the front of the house and the mailbox. I told the DH
if we added gold to the top of the mailbox, we'd have burgundy and gold
(think Washington Redskins LOL) We're trying not to get our hopes up just in
case, but I think I've already given away our feelings about it.

We'll let you know what happens.

LOL - No, hon, we leased this ranch apartment for one year so we could look
around the area before jumping into a mortgage.

well, I was almost hoping it didn't ahve a basement!  Our sump pump went out
last night in the midst of spring thaw and after a day of heavy rain, that
switched to snow today.  More thawingg tomorrow.  New sump pump coming in the
am, but even the hgh areas of the basement are getting wet now.  sigh.......
It seriously cut into me reading online about the Gators marvelous victory in
the NCAA National Championship Basketball game last night! (like how I worked
that in?  heehee)

Anyway, I hope all the financing works out and that your basement stays dry!

Thanks, Gwen!  I know some folks complain about the game being too dull, but
we certainly enjoyed it!  LOL
