Well, I completely quit.  I feel so much better.  I'm getting a lot
more rest.  I'll have to watch the income, but my boss did tell me any
time I wanted to come back, I would be welcomed.  I don't think I want
to, especially on the mornings I go out to get the paper and the
windshield is all icy and frosty!

Besides, if I went back to work, I wouldn't have the time to talk to
y'all on the newsgroup.

What did you quit?

Sorry, guess you didn't see my notice a month or so ago.  I was trying
to decide if I should quit working completely.  I was getting tired.
I can live on what I've got - just have to watch the sneaky purchases
(you know, an egg McMuffin, etc), but that $30 an hour for 12 hours
minimum a week was hard to give up.  All my relatives and friends said
I was looking worn out and since I originally retired because of
seizures due to stress last year, the decision really wasn't very hard
to make.  I was a tool designing engineer and I did love my job, my
boss, and my coworkers - it was just the workload and having to go
three days a week, even.  So, now, I am free - and enjoying living at
the age of 67-1/2.

I sure am.  Mom and I get up early because we always have and we're
morning people, but it's nice to know I can say blah to the clock if I
want to.

Thanks.  I had some preparation last year, when I was home on medical
leave, so it didn't take very long to get used to it. :-)

congratulations on your freedom!  Not having a workplace as an outlet is a
tough adjustment but, based on what we've seen of you here, I'm sure you will
find many other enjoyable, more flexible activities to fill your hours.

You may have noticed in some of my other posts, that I mentioned
Toastmasters.  I am getting involved in that, the local group as well
as the competitions.  After I get the latest group of doctors and
dentists out of the way, may even get started back on my genealogy.
Anybody with a Seefeld in their line?

DON'T tell my husband you're interested in genealogy, you'll never shut him
up. ROFL!! He has had a passion for it for many years. I will ask him as
casually as I can about Seefeld.

Congrats on the Toastmasters award. I got an award at my first meeting when
I went to check them out. They were having impromptu and I raised my hand
for one. They were shocked and I walked away with a ribbon and an invitation
to join. Unfortunately my life was really hectic at the time so I had to
decline. It might be something for me to look into up here.
