Need some info for short term,  major flare up the last 2 mths. finally
found a rheumy but won't see him till April 27.   I have some pred left
over from last bout, wonder if it would be safe to take a short course
and how would I go about it? my pills are 5mg and I have about 60 of
them left. Very hard for me to walk because of hip pain and some
nodules have pop out on the side of my wrist. any help would be much
appreciated

Pred [Prednisolone] is [IMHO] not something you should just take like
OTC drugs. Even if you can't see the RD until 27th April, I ask my GP
[Doctor] how to proceed with the pred and only take it as the Doctor
advises [they should even taper you off it].

my opinion - it's not a good idea to take pred without advice from your
physician

even if it's for a short time

'specially if you're going for a first visit to your rheumy -he/she will
probably want to do lots of labs, and the pred is going to skewer those
results

it may end up doing you more harm than good
