Hi guys,
My name is Ellie and I have lurked for a long time. Learned alot. Now
I have a question. I had my first remicade infusion this past
Friday, and all went well except ever since I have been so tired all I
wanna do is sleep. I was wondering if this could be the remicade and if
so, does this improve? Thanks.

I haven't been on it, but I know lots of folks get benadryl with remicade to
help prevent adverse reactions. Do you know if this was the case for you?
Either as a pill you took before hand or as something they gave you in an IV?
The benadryl would certainly leave you drowsy for a while - heck, it was the
original anithistamine, but is now used as a sleeping pill in hospitals!
It seems to me that some folks may have had that response to Remicade alone,
even without the benadryl, but I can't swear to it. They'll probably be
along to weigh in on this eventually.

Hi Ellie,
I was on Remicade for 2.5 years. As I remember it did make me tired
through the first several infusions. If I remember correctly (and this
is a bit fuzzy) it went away around the time I got to the every 8 weeks
schedule. Hope it works as well for you as it did for me (and longer).

i am tired the day of the infusion, but not after that. you'll be
particularly tired if they give you benadryl ahead of time.
