Got to talk to him 2day while he's at work and told him I fully intend to
report back to the Ladies That Gimp (and the Gimp Guys, too). Thus this
report.
On the second Remicade infusion he had he went into anaphylactic shock.
Rushed to the hosp. and he hadta stay there a while. He developed fluid
around the heart.
So he won't be doing the TNF drugs any more. Paul sez he's got a ton of
antibodies floating around and it's too risky so it's MTX only for him. For
me, too...so it's not such a bad group to hafta be in.
He's doing better than 3 weeks ago but not really good. His wife will be
going to see their first grandbaby via plane and Paul really can't go.
Man, living with Arthur is hard....and trying to keep on living when
Arthur is really bad is harder still.
He said to say thanks to Squishy for the letter she wrote him...so
thanks, Jo! I personally am doing better than Paul is so that's all that
needs saying for now.

First I sent a post with an unladylike expletive (well, bad but not
terrible). I feel badly for anyone who is unable to benefit from the
newer drugs that has out of control RA.Hopefully the mtx will be
enough for Paul.
Having said that though, I feel that the newer drugs are very potent
and one can not know all the harmful side effects.
I hope that someday there will be a medication that is effective with
low risk that Paul and others can benefit from. In the meantime,
my thoughts and prayers go out to him.

Rosie,
thanks for keeping us posted about Paul. You know that you are in my
thoughts and prayers too.
As far as Paul, I am sorry to hear he had that reaction so bad that now he
can't take TNF drugs anymore. I hope they will be able to find something to
help him out.
Your welcome about the card.
I have Paul and Susie in my prayers and thoughts big time.
I know things are going rough for you too Rosie, so you are on my list of
people I am praying for also. I know you don't complain or whine much, so I
just keep you on my list.

So sorry about Paul. Send wishes for faster healing and better times.
And I hope the kids get to bring the grandbaby to him really soon. My late
father used to say that having the grandkids around was the best medicine.
