What do you mean by not healed? Is it dry, weeping, an open area? What does it
look like? Are you using things like alcohol or peroxide on it? If so, stop, as
they delay healing. I would have to see it to advise any more than that.

Carla,
14 months ago, I had abdominal surgery. My incision had problems from
the very beginning. The doctor first had me to keep a wet dressing on
it-purified water and gauze, twice a day. At the eight week mark, I
was to leave it off. The incision healed to about a half inch and
stopped. I have had it examined by another doctor who advised to leave
it alone at this point.
Just my .0002,

Joan thanks for responding. I am using peroxide on it. The skin is
raw and you can see into it like a hole is there. Sometimes it is
weeping but not infected. I will take your advice and not use any
peroxide on it. I went a week with out using peroxide and it healed
over only to open up after a hot shower.

One of the new wound care products should take care of it then. There are all
sorts of clear film wound dressings. Just ask at a drugstore. Often you can buy
them separately as a box of them can be expensive. A film can be left in place
for 5-7 days, no problem.
