Rosie,

thanks muchly. Sorry for being late in responses, but these darn storms
aren't letting me be on puter much.
I got a bit jumpy yesterday when I was watching the lightning and there was
a bolt that went across the sky that was red and orange. I pity wherever
that hit.

Sorry you are catching the brunt of these storms.  We did have a baby
tornado last week but no damage.  Just barely strong enough to qualify and
only touched down rural for a few seconds.  And we have had hail twice and
thunder a couple of times.  But for the most part it has stayed south of us.

Its been a blessing because the painters have been here all week and Kayla
has been able to stay outside almost all of the time.

Oh Jo, glad to hear. I was wondering with the painting and such how this
weather would affect you. We had a baby tornado or huge whirlwind a few
months ago and totally tore out my trellis' in front. Left only one section
still standing.

SJ, I am doing well these day; can't really complain about a thing.  And
Jason is doing well also.  He has his power chair that was made for him; he
and his dad came up with ideas to make it better for him.  They put a heavy
plastic shelf across the chair arms to make a table for him, with a small
hole in it for him to put a long, small mouthpiece through to use on his
computer on the top of the table.  He also has voice control over his
computer at home..  He looks good except he is pale; he was always tanned
because he worked outside a lot.  Our church moved a small organ that was
inside the sanctuary so he has room for his chair, and he comes to church
every Sunday.  The van was built expecially for him and he goes up the ramp
like a pro, turns the chair and rolls up to the front passenger side, and
the chair is locked in.  Some adult friends drove him to the church college
and career basketball game the last two Monday nights.  He still has the
best spirit to have gone through all he has, and the family seems to be
doing very well also.  Thanks for asking.

Gwen,

Glad to hear you and Jason are doing well. That is good news. Always good to
hear good news.

I am glad he has things that are helping him to be able to do things. That
is good. It is good that the church is helping out and accomadating him
also.

I'm lurking. Still recovering from what has now been confirmed by MRI a
MS attack.  Fighting with doctors for PT and OT as I'm not sure I'm
using my new equipment the right way and I'm still very weak and
unstable on my feet. DianeW

Damn Diane.  Is there anything they can do other than wait it out.  I am now
taking Lyrica and Valium and the combination is working a bit better than
anything else.  The lyrica is great for the pain!  Will be saying prayers
and sending great thoughts.  We would make a great unstable group!  If it
weren't for my walker I would look drunk all the time.

Thank you for asking.

The Seasonal Affective Disorder is as it is. Good some days. Worse others.

Great News about Alex - He was able to resume school this week!!!!! It's
been just over 5 months since the accident. He wears braces on his legs, but
refuses the crutches. He is blind in one eye. But he is back at school,
playing in the school band, and participating in most of his old activities.

Isn't it amazing!!!

Good new about Alex, I like to hear the good news too.

Thumb's coming along.  Still weak on grip strength and pinch strength, but
improving slowly & surely.  Skin still sensitive, but also improving.  All in
all  - progress is quite satisfactory.  I even did my exercises with my 5 lb
dumbbells yesterday.  It was the first time I dared to try holding them.

Meanwhile, the DH was picked up by an older kitten last Thursday eve - a
shivering, starving soul trying to get into the church during choir practice.
Even though we are dog people, he's too tender eharted to leave it there.
Brought it home to feed it for a few days until we found a home for it or
took it to the shelter (ours here are no-kill shelters).  You guessed it -
very affectionate kitten and by Sunday he'd decided we had to keep it/she -
we think.  Of course, Mike was quite busy over the weekend, so the first few
days of cat parenting fell to me.  She's kept me too tired to type much, or
even sit at the computer much!  Mike's done more toady though and it helps.
We seem to finally be getting enough food in her.

> Has anyone heard from Duckie Lately?

got a reply to something I forwarded a few days ago.  She was about to send
her PC back to HP for the third time since Jan. and said Carole's been having
the same problem with hers!

Yea, Duckie and I have been commiserating. She had a problem with her
mother board, and I had a total hard drive crash. I had to replace it
(thankfully a wonderful person for whom I do a website paid for it :)
I'm now up and running again with a nice new 80GB Seagate hard drive :)
Duckie was in the process of sending her HP back and then we'll get to
work on her website.

I have a special place in my heart for people who rescue animals, and being a
cat person I have a really special place for you and Mike right now.

heh, I sent him off to bible study/choir practice tonight with strict "no
more cats!" orders.  Our predecessor here had 9 cats by the time she left and
didn't clean up often enough.  It took them months of every product on the
market to get the house smelling livable again.  one cat is enough for us.

Nann,

Glad to hear the thumbs are coming along. I am praying that you get grip
strength and pinch strength back soon.
I hope your skin being sensitive soon goes ok also.

So what are you naming the kitty that adopted you and Mike. Wishing you well
with it.

Yeah, I just got an email from Duckie saying that about the PC. She is
enjoying the weather out here too. Which is good since these last few weeks
have been colder than normal for us. ;-)

The name seems to be Puddin' - after many that didn't fit from both of us,
Mike came up with one that does.  She went through 12 cans of Friskies and a
box of kitten chow in one week!  A vet friend said that foods like IAMS and
Science diet are denser and animals actually eat less so they don't cost that
much more in the end.  So we're trying Iams since last night.  She does seem
to be eating less so far.  Damn!  she has energy though!  and she's so
social, she doesn't really want to play on her own.  LOL  what a handful.

Oh Char: How are you and Myron doing these days?

SJ-Thanks for thinking of us. I now have a home health aid, who comes
in 3X a week to help me with a bath, washing my hair, and that sort of
thing.  I also have a PT that comes to house a couple of days a week.
I will be getting a hospital bed, with side rails, which should help me
get into and out of the bed more easily.  All of this is covered under
insurance, either private or Medicare.  What one doesnt cover the other
does.  So I am feeling much more positive than I have for a long time.
Myron is hanging in there.  He says he wold marry me again, even
knowing what was ahead for us.  That is called love and devotion.  I am
a lucky woman.
Kelly - 12 Mar 2006 22:54 GMT
Wow!  What an incredible husband Char.  And thank goodness you have help
right now!  My thought and wishes go out regularly to you - hope you feel
it.  I know you would be posting more regularly if you were up to it.  you
are right up there with my incredible person list.

I am so glad you are able to get in some help, Char!  That has to make a real
difference in your mental attitude.  That frustration of everything being so
very difficult just wears ya down, mentally as well as physically.

Let's hear it for devoted spouses!  I've kinda surprised myself this year by
feeling bad that Mike's had to drive me over to Petoskey so often (and doing
so again this week for my liver biopsy, next week for 2 MD appts).  But just
when I start to feel guilty and try to let him off the hook (I *really* could
drive myself next week) I rediscover that he's worried and feels better if he
drives me.  He hasn't helped as much around the house as I would have liked -
he just doesn't see dirt - but he has been quite protective of me.  Isn't it
wonderful to be with someone who really values *you*?

Char,

I always think of you. Just don't always say it. ;-)

That sounds great that you are getting help and equipment that will help you
live more comfortably.

I just wish you didn't need it all that you were much better.

Glad hubby is being such a dear. That is always helpful.
