i was disappointed by my feb. 2nd's post-op appmt.  had been expecting to
have the cast removed and be good to go, begin the physical therapy.  that
wasn't the case and it took me a long while to get over myself.<smile>  cast
was removed on feb 2nd and then, it was put right back on (until the 16th).
sugeon took the painkillers away and told me to tough it out with icing it,
and 2 aleve added to 2 ultracet (taken as needed).   then, at that time, my
surgeon wanted me to be gentle in how i used that unprotected
thumb/hand/wrist/arm for the next two weeks, until today's appmt.  i
actually wound up putting the cast back on, myself, on occassion, when
things got a little too lively for the A & U to handle it, just to quiet
things down a little more.

today, he said i'm good to go.  gave me the 'script for pt (or ot as it is
called when done for hands).  told me to go for it, but back-off in my
efforts, if i find i can't sleep because i've pushed it too hard.  yes,
well, i know i probably will push it a bit; it's in my nature when i hear
the word "go!".  he said, on april 13th he will evaluate the therapy's
progress to decide if he has to go back in to release scar tissue from two
sites he thinks might be problematical.

that sounds like a minor thing, to me, though, at least i hope so.  dunno.
but if it is, i  wonder if i can talk him into doing it in his office with a
local.  if we have to do it all, i mean---i'm so tired of the rest of the
pre-op, op, post-op surgical routine.  honestly.  sometimes, i wish they
could just snip-snip and then use elmer's glue all or install zippers.;-)

like i told gwenie, a couple of days ago, "that's my life in the fast
lane".<smile>  5 months already and i'm ready for something different, but
now comes the 3 times a week appmts.  progress---closer to the end of this
adventure, i hope.

Your welcome Kate,

Also on the cards, the reason why I put the ASA family when I sign them is
there are some special ASA people that have kept the card ministry going by
sending me cards and stamps to do so. So I figured I would also include the
ASA family when I signed them.
