I told him MTX has given me problems but at 3 pills it did not give me the
bad ulcers I get at 4 or more. I also explained that in the past I get sick
feeling for a day or so after. With that said, since I am unable to afford
the copays at the moment (son was just diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes) the
RD said I can no longer wait to be put on something other than pred and a
NSAID. That diabetes stuff takes a large chunk of the non bill money.
My knees are bone on bone (I need bilateral TKR soon), my hands are in need
of surgery and my wrists are pretty much fused. In the past Kineret, Enbrel
and Remicade have not worked. I am unable to get compassionate service for
the Humira and waiting to hear from Orencia. Its not like I haven't tried.
He doesn't know I am in a bad way today as he is out of town until Thursday.
He does know I have had problems in the past but during those times I have
been on other drugs that I have had to discontinue (Arava was a bad one) due
to stomach issues.
I broke out some mint herbal tea and it helped for about 10 minutes after I
was done. Guess I better make a big pot of it. The ginger stuff didn't
help!

Hi Shandi,,,, No medicine will help bone on bone and you know that. Every
now and then someone will post where nothing has helped them to deal with
inflam.arth. From what you say, you and your doctor have really tried to
deal with it.
I have type 2 diabetes and when I have to take a little prednisone, it
is much harder to control. Thank you for sharing your story and may God
bless you with less pain.

Have you tried the injectable form? It is easier on the tummy and
fairly inexpensive. Many folks find it has fewer side effects. -- MZ

Hi MNP,
I found this site at rheumatology.org. It gives the names of a bunch of
arthritis med manufacturers and the phone numbers for their patient
assistance programs. Even Tylenol is on there. I hope this helps:
