My husband wants to buy a second walker since we have to get the hand
brakes fixed on my existing walker. I'm looking for a recommendation.
What I have now is a Featherweight Walker - it has 4 wheels and a seat
with a basket under it. Hand brakes like on a ten speed bike. It
weights 13 lbs.

What I want is something similar and possibly lighter as lifting stuff
kills my back and bones. The lightest I've found online is 11 lbs. I
haven't been unhappy with this one but only started using it regularly
last week. With the new MS attack, I can't walk without it now and a
cane isn't enough support.

So -- any recommendations? What about the walkers with the basket in
front of the seat as opposed to under it? The only think that comes to
mind is that it might have an overall size that might have me banging
into things in the house. Thanks guys!  DianeW

I am a very big fan of trying something out in person before buying it, picture
and descriptions just don't tell somethings you need to know. I would ask some
of your doctors if there is any place in your area where you can try out a new
walker.

Also, if you are worried about a front basket bumping into things, see if you
can get a removable one, or a soft bag which would hang from the front rail.
