Hey all,
I SINCERELY thank everyone who has Mom in their prayers!

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much, and not gotten back to ya'll.
She is still not looking good, not as bad as that Sunday, when she had
fallen early a.m. couldn't get up and couldn't call out loud enough for
anyone there to hear her. That ER doc and I both thought she'd be gone that
night.
My two, (very wonderful, funny as all get out, and extremely supportive)
Aunts have been here, from Boston and NJ, since Tuesday!

My mom is very close to Aunt Winnie, and Aunt Pat & I are the same way.  Pat
came over from Scotland when I was about 12, and lived with us for 3 years,
until she married her hubby. (All of the family is from Scotland, and I was
born a few months after they moved here. Three of the girls, that moved to
America, lived with us for one to three years.)
It's so much fun listening to everyone as we all wind up falling into the
Scottish accent when we get together. My mom has had many laughs, and is so
grateful I asked them to come out now.
But she was looking very tired and haggarrrrt & pealy-wally <----Scottish
terms <smile> yesterday. My Aunts went grocery shopping and bought enough
food for dinner for all of us, 10 altogether out here, themselves and
immediate family. And we're having dinner every night together at Mom's. So
even tho I don't think she will last much longer, it's soooo great to see
her laugh with her younger sisters for a week......

Love to all, and prayers out to anyone needing them, thanks for the
heartfelt empathy notes. There's NO other group on USENET as supportive and
as caring as everyone here!

What a wonderful way to come to the end of your life!  Your final
memories of your Mother will be of laughter and love.  Do you know how
lucky you are?

YES!

I most certainly do. :)

I am sooooo happy they got here in time to spend with her, while she is
still able to get up and sit on the couch and the dining room table, still
able to eat with all of us, and she's been treated like a queen........as
she was just before leaving Scotland.
Her small town had 'coronated' her as the most beatiful, (and I believe it
had something to do with their church, not sure), but do know she was a
BEAUTY as a younger woman. However, she looks just as good to me now. :)

Aunts are leaving very early Sunday a.m., so we're all praying they get
snowed in, for at least another week!  <G>

Gratefully,
MaryBeth

Thanks Cindy,
We've finally located our video camera, and are going tomorrow to tape all
day. We've already got tons of pix, but being able to watch my Mom laugh
with her sisters, will be a VERY wonderful gift, INDEED!

Sincere thanks,
MaryBeth

Mary Beth,

This post just warmed my heart.  How wonderful for your MOM.  To spend
her last days with those she loves laughing, loving and getting along
so well.  What a testimony to her life.  You will continue to be in my
thoughts.

Our prayers are with you.  The best memory I have of my Dad is the
night before he died.  My sister had brought her grandson and the two
of them (Andrew was around one year old) just sat there and giggled.
My dad hadn't been aware of us too much when we came, but he and
Andrew had fun.

You all will have such wonderful memories of this time, and isn't so
blessed to be able to see your Mom enjoying herself.

God bless,
Loujean
