Hi,
I have developed pain in my feet and hands a couple weeks after severe
insomnia and depression. I've read about fibro and really hoping i
don't have that because I'm just going to be starting grad school this
year (computer science) or keep my career not sure how I'd justify
living. Anyway, the pain is totally symmetric and is mostly confined to
my hands and feet. My neck hurts a little too.
The pain is in my toes, ball of feet, heel of feet, base of palm, third
and second knuckle of fingers. It only hurts when I'm using my hands or
feet or there is pressure. The feet were hurting just a little
immediately following the insomnia, then two weeks later I got a cold
and they got much worse. I've had slight pain in the second knuckle of
my fingers when I had poor sleep in the past, but it always goes away
when my sleep improves (as far back as 1999). It was always restricted
to those joints, and I've never had pain in my feet before last month.
My dr said she will run blood tests if the pain is still present a week
from now. Anyway, just looking for some (hopefully reassuring) info.
Thanks.

Stress and depression and both feet hurting sounds like RA has come into
your life. I hope your doctor sees this and sends you to an RD or puts you
on a dmard that will start to control what is taking place.
