Life is good. I lost my medical insurance again and am broke like
usual but the worst thing I could think of the other day that was
happening to me was the fact that I had a really bad case of chapped
lips. Lol As always the other stuff will eventually work out but
those dadgum lips are killing me. I.ve got chapstick in every pocket,
counter, purse and tabletop that I can think of.
Anyway, other topics....I took my son driving the other day. He is 15
and wants to drive really bad. None of my other kids cared as much as
this one. Took him up on top of Horse Heaven Hills right out of Benton
City and on the way to Paterson, WA. It's a wonderfully flat area with
lots of wheat fields and hardly any traffic. We took a gravel road
that tooks us out there for miles along the fields. He did wonderful.
He's going to make a pretty good driver. He's cautious and yet
adventuresome. Pays attention to detail, keeps his eyes on the road
in front of him, keeps a nice even speed. I was really impressed. The
next day we took off towards Prosser. This time we drove around in the
grape orchards and hops fields. All in all he drove over 80 miles in
two days. Talk about a heart attack waiting to happen. He asked me if
he scared me with his driving. I told him no, his driving was really
good. It was just a mother thing.....lol he just rolled his eyes.
Gotta love that kid.
Hope you are all doing well and are in good spirits. I stayed home
today and played like I was a domesticated woman. I cooked a ham, pea
soup, mashed potatoes and baked a bread (in the machine that is...hands
don't like to knead anymore), and nothing even scorched. Like I said,
life is good!
Love ya all

Brigitte,
Farmer was showing the city boy around his back 40, when he bent down
and stuck a finger in a cow-flop. He smeared the dung on his lips, which
caused the city boy to ask him why he was doing that.
"Chapped lips", replied the farmer.
"Is cow dung really good for chapped lips?", asked the city slicker.
"No", said the farmer, "but it sure keeps me from licking them."
Cheers Lee O.

Hi Brigitte,
Good to hear from you, it has been quite some time. So glad to hear
that life is being kind to you as of late! May it continue to do so
for a good long time.
I'm with Nann, on the chapped lips, carmex from the little tub is
wonderful!!! When I have really bad chapped lips, I put the carmex on
before I go to bed and the next morning my lips are so much better. I
have the little tubs next to my bed, in my coat pockets, next to my
couch, etc. I love that stuff!!!

Remember to "kiss gently", Brigitte ;-) My lips get so dry, so my answer is
to buy those pocket-size tubes of petroleum jelly. Then, I keep a tub of
vaseline downstairs, as well as upstairs. Rarely get sores, but when I do,
then I have to go to something stronger. Be well. Nanny

And a reminder. L-Lysine helps lips and mouths to heal.
I use neosporin on my lips when they get really bad. Now I see neosporin
has a lip balm on the market.
