Yikes strongest storm of the season comes ashore tonight.  Hurricane
force winds at the coast with 38 foot seas.....Yikes! Coast Guard has
warnings out that they will not be able to do rescues. Barometric
pressure is forecast to be around 960 mb which is in the Category 3
range of hurricanes.  Gusts to 90 miles per hour.  On this saturated
ground it will be a mess of downed trees.
The good news is the rain is supposed to stop next week yipppppeeeee!

Winds in the valley were expected to have gusts up to 50 mph. I sure hope my
trees hold up. I've lost several branches already.:(

wow.  i hope it all weakens some before it hits!

we're finally going to get some real winter (thanks canada for blowing some
arctic air our way!) so it's a good time for your interminable rain to stop.

How come ours comes from New England? We had snow and freezing rain from the
Atlantic seaboard the other day. We don't send it all. :-)

er.... latitudes maybe?  in northern lower MI, we are further north than
parts of Canada and most of the US.  any artic air mass that gets to us must
be a recent canadian resident - though it may actually have entered canada
from alaska, just to confuse matters   lol  a friend from high school now
lives in a small village in alaska - perhaps i should be attributing this one
to him!

Definitely, Nann, never take responsibility for something if you can pass it off
one someone else, especially if they don't know about it. ROFL

We had a HUGE windstorm in western Washington yesterday! The winds took
the tiles off the roof of my apartment building! And lots of people are
without electricity - not good when the Seahawks are playing in the
Super Bowl today! They are working hard to get everyone back on line in
time!

Good...that means it should be here a few days later. I'm perfectly
happy not to shovel snow, but it's just wrong to have daffodils coming
up in January.

I just wish they'd shared with the rest of Canada first.  For the second
time this winter, my irises are showing signs of life, and my friend's apple
tree has buds on it.  It sure feels nice, but it can't be good.  One rumor
says we are getting some freezing rain today.  Another says that sometime
this weekend we will finally get the snow dump that we should have had back
in October or November.  I hope so.  There are too many cool activities that
depend on having a decent amount of snow.  Besides, it gets my jacket dirty
when I make dirt angels...

Well, it has been raining her nonstop for the last 2 days, but in the
last half hour, it just changed over to all snow.   They are forcasting
5-10 inches her between today and overnight, so am glad I don't have to
go out for much!   They are also calling for the winds to become quite
strong which of course will cause significant blowing and drifting of
all that snow.

Hang in there everyone and look out east coasters, as usually what ever
we get, you seem to get twice as bad!

Sure hope all you PNW people stay safe and that the storms turn out not
to be as bad as predicted!!!

Hugs,

It's supposed to start to blow here tonight.  Stay dry and stay safe you
guys.

At three months Kayla is a self-respecting Border Collie pup.  She will
happily go out and lie in the yard in the rain and play with her toys and
try to coax me in to joining her for a game of soccer.  She draws the line
at 25+ MPH winds.  She will be in glaring at the door wanting the wind to go
away.  I guess when its windy all the sheep are supposed to be safely
inside.

Yous guys don't have to hog all that rain you know.  We are about 10" short
around here and could use some of it. As long as I don't have to shovel it,
that is!

Mary, I hope you will be spared any damage and will be safe and secure
during the storms.  We're having a snow storm in Ohio right now.  Fun and
games! ;-)  Nanny
