I have not posted in a long time but wish to remind primary caregivers of AD
patients who may have a family member hospitalized:  we will be available
this 4th of July holiday to provide a few hours of relief to the caregiver,
at no charge.  Unfortunately, this service is only provided in Houston-area
hospitals, and subject to availability of our volunteers.

Your intentions are good, but if dependent on the availability of
volunteers, I don't see that that your services would be of much help to
caregivers.  I realize those services are free of charge, which is
commendable, but it seems to me it would put more stress on a caregiver
to want to use them, only to discover that no one was available.  Would
you tell them when they called or would they have to wait to find out if
someone was coming?

We will tell them at the time of call. I have the schedules for our
volunteers.  In case of an emergency (on weekends only) those take priority.
All our volunteers hold full-time jobs, as do I.

Thanks for your inquiry.
