Am I just wishing? Don is starting his first week at full dose of
Namenda along with Aricept & he hasn't asked where the bathroom is the
past few days. Could it be the new drug?
He is usually dizzy--but he has been that way for many years...he takes
meds for diabetes & heart (has pacemaker & stent, a procedure done at a
much earlier stage) Almost all info on these meds comment on dizziness.
The most I hoped for when adding the Namenda was time- holding off
incontinence.
Well he just woke up from dozing and headed haltingly for the bathroom
without asking where it is...Maybe it will help staving off NH....I
don't think I can handle incontinence..
I'll let you know if this stage goes south
quickly...

Florence, I bet it is the addition of the Namenda that is helping. Hope it
will continue for a good while.

So we'll assume that every day we don't hear from you is one more good
day for you and Don!

Darryl---
That's not a guarantee. I find myself depending on this ng more & more
for comfort. Nine going on ten years & probably more than that when I
look back and see how much I ignored or thought was just my
misunderstang.
Last night on the Sopranos, wasn't Uncle Junior's starting of Alz a
pretty good portrayal.?
Any exposure of this dreadful life of hell, & family disruption is good
---even the bad guys can't escape.

My wife is in her second week on Namenda and she is performing tasks that I
thought had passed her by during the last four years. For instance, she read
an Irish blessing aloud before a group of about 30 friends, at a St
Patrick's Day party we attended, without pausing or making any errors. Also,
today she ordered aloud for herself at the Arby's counter. She hasn't been
willing to give that a try for more than two years. We're going back to the
neurologist in a few months to get some measurement of impairment level, now
that the Namenda may be kicking in. Yea, there's some serious wishing going
on here, too.
Jo continues to lose her glasses (so do I) and she can't take a phone
message, but those things were lost three years ago, so if they EVER come
back we're heading for Lourdes.
BTW, The Irish saying that received the most votes as the best was:
"Some folks say the glass is half empty,
Some folks say the glass is half full,
The Irish say, "Hey pal, you goina' drink that?"
Give you some idea of the group, huh?
go'l.
