Boy, can I sympathize with you! I was the one with an acute bronchitis
infection but my mom picked up enough of the bug to make her life
miserable. The roughest thing was getting her to sleep on her side.
I'd prop pillows behind her but she'd wiggle around until she was back
on her back. She has always slept on her back but with the gagging fits
caused by congestion I was trying to keep her from aspirating mucus into
her lungs. It was like talking to the wall. So I found myself getting
up from my sick bed several times a night to prop her on her side only
to be complained at for 'hurting' her.
That's one of the worse things about AD, the inability to be able to
communicate words into action. It is so frustrating trying to do the
right things to help them but not being able to 'get through' to them.
That blank look while you try every which way to have them understand is
what really gets me down and ready to give up. But like the rest of you
I keep plugging away and keep hoping for the best.
