I too have been hit with the horrible situation of having someone I
love be diagnosed with Alzheimers. Sadly my nana has now passed away,
I have, ever since raised money for the alzheimer's society and I'm
aiming for something BIG next year. I am aiming to complete the whole
great run series (over 70miles) in aid of the alzheimer's society. If
you would like to hear how I'm getting on, sponsor me or simply need a
chat about how I coped please let me know! Here's my website if anyone
fancies a peek. Thanks Laura

.
You forgot to include your website.
If you'd like to use your computer to help Alzheimer's research, see here:
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/
Rather memory-hungry; computers with at least 0.5 GB for each CPU
core you let them use, plus an additional 0.5 GB for the operating
system are recommended. The extra electricity used is less that 50
cents (US) a day for most computers in most locations. If you also
need extra electricity to run an air conditioner, that should be less than
2 dollars (US) a day for most computers in most locations.
I keep both my computers running such a workunit or a similar one
from some other BOINC project related to medical research on each
CPU core nearly all the time, even at night.
You could also help by printing this (possibly editted first) and handing
out copies at any meeting of the Alzheimer's Society.
