My husband died recently after having Alzheimers for several years. I
fequently read posting from this group and found them very helpful.
Want to thank everyone - especically Evelyn who always gave such good
advice. My husband was much easier to care for than some who post here
but it's not an easy job for anyone. I have more time now so will post
again if I feel I can help someone.

Hi Mary,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but I am glad you dropped in to
update us. You were very fortunate that your husband was easy to
care for. Now he is at peace and finally free of alzheimers.
I would write more, but I am going through some difficult times right
now with my father who has vascular deficiency to the brain. Not
alzheimers, but trying in its own way. Do come back from time to
time. It is always good to hear from people who have posted here.
Best Regards,
Evelyn

Mary,
Please accept my condolences and sympathy of the loss of your husband.
No matter how the disease manifests, it is always hard for the family to
see the gradual decline of their loved one.
Please do stick around. Those of us who are still on the journey you
just completed need your advice and encouragement. Even if you don't
feel up to posting as you grieve in the weeks and months to come, we
would all appreciate your just thinking of us. You can hear over and
over in these postings how alone we all feel, coping with thee day to
day. Knowing that we have companions on the journey here is a great
encouragement.

I am so sorry for your loss, but as you know with AD, the person
you love often leaves before their body does. I hope that you
remember the good times you had together and hold those close to
your heart.
Please do keep posting if you can offer insights to others. My
mother died 4 years ago next month but I still post here, and I
also offer advice to friends locally who are dealing with similar
problems now.
