Hi Elise. It's not so much that it offends anyone (tho I'm sure there are
some who are), it's just that it's illogical and therefore makes it
difficult for people to follow the conversation. They "lose the thread" of
the discussion. And bear in mind usenet is all about discussion. So it makes
no sense to have a conversation going backwards, on rewind if you like. Or
even worse, following a logical sequence but then one person decides not to
continue the thread of the conversation by posting right at the top, ahead
of everyone else's logical sequence.

Elise, don't give it a second thought. In the past it was thought
that posting on top of the previous posters words, rather than on the
bottom, was somehow "dissing" their comments.

now sometimes a very brief note on top is fine. I post on a few

I usually post on the bottom
becaue I have been using newsgroups for a long time and got into the
habit of doing it that way.

I post on the top so if someone knows what I'm talking about, they don't
have to read the previous post. I prefer it that way.

Are you ever going to make an on topic comment or just continue your
trolling?

Oh the irony ..! In case you hadn't noticed, the subject of this thread
(which was started by Elise), is "top posting". I was debating top-posting
with Elise and Evelyn. In this thread, we are all *on-topic*. It is *you*
who isn't. Idiot.
Now, are you going to make a constructive comment to this thread *about top
posting* ... or are you intent upon trolling?

Nice crosspost to alt.trolls trollboy. You've shown your cards.

Glad you liked it :) I thought that's where your posts belonged. Now stay
on topic please, and discuss top posting.
