On a very practical note ...

Depends are very expensive bought through local retail outlets. My dad
grouses so much about the cost that my mom won't change her wet ones.
(Why she retains *that* bit of info and not others -- I have no idea.)
As a result she develops diaper rash and uncomfortable as that is for
anyone, for an uncontrolled diabetic like her, it is right down
dangerous.

Can anyone recommend a less expensive source online? I don't know if I
reverse that thinking in her mind, but maybe I can at least put Dad's
more at ease!

Songbird, we bought big boxes of them in Sam's club.   Maybe you could
buy her a big box and just drop it off there?   That way your dad
wouldn't have the cost on his mind so much.   But from what you've
said, he'd probably just find something else to grouse about.

Yesterday I spoke to the lady who is taking care of my father.   He is
so stingy about electrical usage that he is keeping the air
conditioner off in sweltering heat.   The poor woman is miserable.
She knows that if she turns it on she will hear about it for raising
his electric bill.   Yet if she gets disgusted and leaves, it is going
to be one heck of a bad scenario for the whole family.

I have no idea what to do to help her, and there is absolutely no
reasoning with him.

Best Regards,
Evelyn

Hi,sorry to say I have no idea about cheaper depends source(s), though
maybe you could explain to your dad the high cost of treating skin
ulcers the next time he starts going on about the cost of Depends; the
comparison might help him think more clearly. A diabetic with skin
breakdown is really, really dangerous and difficult to heal. Good luck!
