Hello,
I haven't posted in a while.I just wanted to share a more positive
approach to dealing with this illness.I lost my mom in
January.Recently i realized what a wonderful bond i made with my mom
over the 4 yrs. i cared for her.It was very difficult mentally but i
grew to love her in a way i never thought possible.i always loved her
but after caring for her as a child of mine i can't explaine the love
i felt for her.Remember when things get hard that they will be gone
some day.It has been almost 6 months now and i would never want her
back in her condition but i miss her more than i ever imagined. So when
times get rough and i know they do just remember they will be gone
someday.Life without them does not feel better for quite sometime.Love
them now while they are here.Nothing they do,and I mean nothing is
meant to be mean to you.Swearing, hitting and all is not them.I don't
blame anyone for placing them but don't forget them there as so many
children do.I miss my mom still as if it happened yesterday but it is
getting better. This group is wonderful and i feel bad for everyone of
you.My heart aches for the ones who are just starting there
journey. This has touched my life like nothing else ever has.And i
would not take back 1 minute i cared for my mother. It took its toll on
my family but it was so worth it.We grew because of it.So when things
feel like you just can't go on remember it will end some day.God bless
each and everyone of you.You are doing something that you will never
regret or forget. You will be a better person for all you are doing.barb

Barb, thank you.  It really is good to remember that it does get easier as
the days and months go by.  Good to hear from you again.
Gwen
