this is not webtv, this is usenet.  if you get it through webtv,
you need to learn the difference.

From my home page on webtv I click discuss to get here.... the msn logo
is in the corner of the screen as I am typing now.   Why does it make a
difference?  What do I have to learn about usenet, and where can I go to
learn it?

Usenet was around quite a while before WebTV was available.  This particular
usenet group was created in August 1997.  When you click on Groups using
Webtv it probably automatically sends you to Usenet groups.  Usenet has
about 70 thousand different groups of various types. Not sure if WebTV also
sends you to MSN groups which would probably add another 70 thousand
different available groups. Yahoo probably has 50 thousand or more different
available groups and more recently Google sponsors umpteen thousand more.
You get the idea - there are lots of groups out there. WebTV does not have
anything directly to do with this group except for pointing you towards it.

Welcome to the usenet Alzheimer group,   AW

one thing you need to do is to use the reply function, rather
than to start new threads.  usenet threads all the replies
together into a thread, and if you post a new message instead of
replying, even if the subject is the same, they are no longer
connected.

Linda,  Web TV can access usenet groups, and so can a computer, which is
what many of us post from.   It doesn't much matter, but it is still usenet.
Welcome to the group!

"Like the light of the sun moon and stars, may the love, compassion and
wisdom shine forth.  May they strike every single living being and dispel
the darkness of ignorance, attachment and hatred that has lurked for ages in
their being.  When any living being meets with another may it be like the
reunion of a mother and child who have long been separated.  In a harmonious
world such as this may I see everyone sleep peacefully to the music of
non-violence.   This is my dream."    --  17th Gyalwa Karmapa Orgyen Trinley
