Tried flowers a couple of years ago but she didn't seem to interested.
She'd probably try to eat 'em at this point. Anyway, she's pretty far
gone by now. Hasn't spoken in about a year and a half. I guess I could
make sure she has her favorite ice cream but she gets that pretty
frequently anyway. Any ideas?

John, at this point she has no idea what Mothers Day is. It won't mean a
thing to her for you to do someting special. Just be there for her and love
her. Even more ice cream would be good.

My MIL has always been a fiend for chocolate. Now that she can't
recognize us or it, we send the chocolate to the staff at the nursing
home who takes care of her. They appreciate it greatly!

Holidays can get confusing for them at a certain point, no doubt.
But I am sure she always appreciates seeing you and spending time with you.

Hi, John,
Oddly enough, yesterday I was looking at Mother's Day cards and remembered
seeing cards unopened in my mother's purse a few days ago. I decided not to
even buy a card. I'll visit and sit with her while she has her dinner.
There nothing we can buy that will bring any of them back to us...
smiles,
Elise
