Hello Everyone,
Sorry about the previous deleted post--not sure what happened there.
Unfortunately, I wrote the post in Word then pasted into the message.
It seemed to be okay--so I deleted my Word document (and it was
wonderfully worded!). Maybe the second time will be the charm!
My husband and I read all of your replies to my previous post and had
a long discussion about moving forward with daycare and researching
into future placement options. My husband is an action-oriented guy
so he had no problem with it. I am the thinker and planner so I
wanted to talk about all the whys and hows and consequences. But the
next day I did go to the local daycare (part of a consortium of
community health services) to check it out. I wasn't able to get a
tour but did get a package of information. I have an appointment for
a tour tomorrow.
This weekend I took grandma to the mall to buy some pajamas and tennis
shoes. We also had lunch there. It was a normal outing--leading and
guiding her to the pajama section, helping her pick out her size,
narrowing the selection down to two items, taking her to the dressing
room, frequent reminders to keep the dressing room door shut, helping
her pay, tying her shoes, ordering her food, encouraging her to eat.
My husband says that we are like frogs in a beaker of water sitting on
a flame--unaware that the water is getting hotter and hotter.
Yesterday, I bought 'The 36-hour Day'. Today, I took grandma to the
doctor for a routine visit. I was a nurse at this practice for
several years so I was able to steathily get a physician signature on
the physical exam form and get grandma a TB-skin test as part of the
daycare enrollment. We think the 'volunteer' idea to get grandma to
go might work. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again for all your
advice.

once your post appears in a newsgroup, it's there forever. it's
just that most newsreaders are configured to delete old posts &
headers when downloading new headers, unless you lock the post
against deletion or change the program settings.
in other words, even if you delete a post from your computer,
it's still on thousands of news servers and you can download it
again if you want.
also, depending on which server you post to, it can sometimes
take a while after posting before it's available to download.
