Heh...heh...notice I put my fake
address in for newsgroups.
The best way to get spammed
is to publish your real address.
Spambots are constantly trolling
the newsgroups for valid addresses.

how did you change it to put your new email address in?
tools >accounts>select the mail tab>select properties>enter new email adress
If you get an error when sending mail, then ask here again wity the error
but chances are you'll need to put a 'dummy' eail address in thats real,
that you dont use ..a yahoo one for example, anyone you can sign up online
free for.

Gwen it is only when you are configuring for newsgroups that it matters.
You have to take out the news server, and then put it in again all new. At
that point you have to put in an email address (I think), then download all
the newsgroups and subscribe to those you want to read. There is a place
in that process where you have to enter an email address. I use a gmail
address just for that purpose. Gmail gets rid of most of the spammers for
me, but it does not get rid of the ones who claim they have a million
dollars waiting for me, all I have to do is give them some money first (LOL)
Actually it would be good if you asked your ISP phone support to guide you
through the process. But when it comes time to give your email address,
don't write in the real one when you are subscribing to newsgroups.
For email to my personal friends and acquaintances, of course I use my real
one.

Gwen....
Here's all you have to do...
Open Outlook Express
Go to...Tools / Accounts / News tab
In the Account column...left click
(highlight) the server you use for
newsgroups / Properties button /
General tab
The address you enter in the E-mail
Address field on the General tab will
be the address that is included in your
message header.
You could enter a completely bogus
address like:
gwen@remulac.xyz
(if you choose this method...be sure
you are not entering a real address
that may belong to someone else)
Or you could add something obvious
to your current address that could be
easily removed like:
ladylove77NO@SPAMknology.net
