I'm the caretaker for my two elderly aunts (91 and 89) who are
currently in assisted living at the Sunrise in Northern NJ.  Both aunts

are in relatively good health, can walk, eat, and bathe on their own
and are at the basic level of care level.  Due to the steep increase in

rates at the Sunrise, I'm looking for a facility for them either in
Monmouth County NJ or Bucks County PA where my sister lives.

Can anyone recommend facilities in these areas?  Erickson was
recommended by a friend and I'd be interested in learning more about it

from a third party.

My aunts have assets that will get them through the next 3 years or so
but beyond that Medicare/Medicaid will be needed for long term nursing
care if it becomes necessary.

Any suggestions/comments will be appreciated.

Thanks!

My advice to you is to check with your local office of the aging or your
local alzheimers society.   Any information you might get here would be too
general, unless someone just luckily happened to be in that county and knew
of a particular place.    We who post here are all over the map.  I am in
upstate NY, some are in Alaska or Canada, and others in the UK.   See what I
mean?

Sorry, but I don't have any suggestions for
you. I was just wondering what the cost per
resident is in the Assisted Living facility?

I am going through the same thing in Somerset County.

Try www.aplaceformom.com

They put me onto a few places close to home. Good luck.

If you're referring to Seabrook, the Erickson community in Tinton Falls,
then I'd definitely recommend it - and I only recommend facilities with whom
I have had a good professional experience.  I don't know the cost, and I'd
be surprised if it was that much less than Sunrise (whom I would also
recommend on a case-by-case basis), but it's definitely worth checking out.

I can't help you with too much recommendations for Monmouth County - I live
in Bergen and work in Morris - but I'd be more than happy to try to help if
you have any further questions.

Good luck!
