Has anything changed with your Grandfather's status - as in your being able to visit him without grief from your Father? If so, great...
Welcome back!

I have just seen my granddad, i took the dog too. The manager said my father instructed them not to let me in (its sec locked main door with a bell) but he cant stop me, or stop me taking the dog, but i cannot take my granddad off the premises.....
I spent a hour with him, along with the dog and i showed him the pictures from my site on my laptop and the part from Belgium where his dad was (now added what the letter from King George had written)
Im off to see a lawyer when i can, so i can take my granddad out.

Jules, I'm glad to see you had fun on your trip! Good luck with the legal stuff, if anybody can do it, I'm sure you can. I know it's not a good position to be in, but one thing is for sure; you'll never have to worry about whether you were right or not and you'll know that no matter what happens, at least you gave it your all.
Keep us posted...

>> I have just seen my granddad, i took the dog too. Are dogs often used for visits to Alzheimer's patients? I see that some nursing homes do use them to come in periodically as part of an established program, and many patients seem to enjoy the dog visits and relate well to them. (Probably just as many don't.)
For some, it sounds like a nice idea. Of course, germs might be passed, etc., but I guess it's a trade-off.

I have no idea, i take the dog cos is just as a important part of my family and life as my granddad is

You remind me of my grandson, he doesn't like to go with my wife and I to our favorite place to eat out because he says there are too many old people there.

My husband always says that if you go into a restaurant and it is full of old people, it is usually a good place with decent, fairly priced food. I think he is right.

I think he's correct. Our favorite place has home cooked food with lots of fresh veggies. All you can eat....including Tea, Coffee, and sales tax for $6.25. And it's full of old people :o)
Years ago someone told me to stop at the place with the most trucks because truckers knew the best places. My experience was that truckers like the places where they have enough room to park.

Wow! $6.25 is awesomely cheap. Not in my area though, the cheapest dinners around here run at the very least, ten dollars. You are right about the truckers. Parking is their prime consideration.

When our favorite daytime place to eat became Luby's Cafeteria, then I knew I was truly old. We ate there again yesterday, and I loved it, just as usual. :-)
LOL also ---
