This is such a weird disease in that my mother who is approaching her 14th
year of dementia, can still use the phone. Mom called the other day from
her assisted living apartment. She wanted to know if I had sent someone to
trim her toenails. I replied that yes, I had signed her up with the
Podiatrist that comes around every 3 months at her facility to trim
toenails. Last time I had taken her to a Podiatrist across town to have it
done. I'm sure she's forgotten that she needs a professional to do this
now. Anyway she wanted to know who was paying for this and I told her it's
covered by Medicare and not to worry. That seemed to sooth her feathers
and finally she said "Well they look pretty good now." LOL
Mom was always fugal and I'm certainly glad. Hopefully her money will last
as long as she needs to stay in assisted living. Her physical health is
very good for someone who will be 87 soon. It's strange that her mind
seems to be better this past couple of weeks. And so it goes......June

Well let's face it, June, there's no cure, but hopefully something
strange has happened and her mind will continue to be as good as it has
been recently for a long time to come.
