Sleep Disorders Are A Precursor To Brain Degeneration
Researchers at the Mayo Clinic have found that people with sleep
disorders develop degenerative brain diseases around 11 years after
their disorder is diagnosed . The findings of the study are to be
presented June 19 at the Associated Professional Sleep Societies' SLEEP
2006 meeting in Salt Lake City.

As many as 45 patients with multiple sclerosis were examined for
rheological blood properties. As compared to controls, the group under
examination manifested the rise of plasma viscosity, acceleration of
red blood cell aggregation. 26.2% of patients demonstrated an
appreciable increase of blood viscosity. It is assumed that these
changes contribute to the deterioration of microcirculation and
aggravate the demyelinating process. Correction of the rheological
properties of the blood by plasmapheresis coupled with other methods of

pathogenetic therapy turned out effective.

Effective at what?  Lowering blood viscosity?  Curing MS?  Saving
mankind?  Creating peace on earth?  What?

Please explain, in your own words of course, & without those damn ...

Plasma exchange in neuroimmunological disorders: Part 1: Rationale and
treatment of inflammatory central nervous system disorders.
Lehmann HC, Hartung HP, Hetzel GR, Stüve O, Kieseier BC
Arch Neurol. 2006 Jul ; 63(7): 930-5

Plasma exchange is a well-established therapeutic procedure commonly
used in many neurological disorders of autoimmune etiology. It is
thought that the beneficial effects of plasma exchange occur through
the elimination of pathognomonic inflammatory mediators, including
autoantibodies, complement components, and cytokines. In various
neurological disorders, randomized controlled studies have demonstrated
the efficacy of plasma exchange (eg, in Guillain-Barré syndrome and
other forms of immune neuropathies). Although widely used, the
potential benefit of plasma exchange in the treatment of multiple
sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and Lambert-Eaton syndrome is less clear.

OK, but let's look at what you quoted again:

Lets try something you seem incapable of, analysis.

First it says that the MS patients showed a rise in blood viscosity.

Then it assumes that the increased viscosity aggravates demyelination.

Then it concludes by saying that plasmapheresis, combined with other,
unnamed therapies, was effective.

I ask again.

Effective at what?  Correcting blood viscosity or slowing demyelination?
If it corrected blood viscosity, then what was the effect on demylination?

What was the benefit to the patients?  Did their symptoms improve?  Was
there a change in their EDSS scores?  Do you even know what the EDSS is?

Here let me emphasize the last sentence for you:

"Although widely used, the potential benefit of plasma exchange in the
treatment of ***MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS***, myasthenia gravis, and
Lambert-Eaton syndrome ***IS LESS CLEAR***."

"IS LESS CLEAR":  Sounds like they came up short on evidence, doesn't it?

But how can that be?  The first study said that plasmapheresis was
"effective" in MS patients.  This one says the benefits are "less
clear".  So, which is it?  Please explain, if you are capable.

BTW, how's your Nobel Prize nomination coming along?

So, your so-called research or analysis consists of nothing more than
looking at summaries of studies?  Without analyzing the underlying data?

I don't think he even knows what the Really Big Words in those
summaries of studies mean, let alone understand half of what is being

As I have an education, it just so happens that I can understand the
limited amount of information that you post regarding these studies.  I
would suggest that you get an education, too.

Yeah, I glanced at the keyboard when I read his post about your spelling
& immediately saw that it would be very easy to make that typo.

His attack on your spelling is a classic troll technique.  My little
fictitious rule has a lot of truth to it, along with rule 1:

"Never directly answer a question, always distract from it."

Hence his answering questions by posting yet another study.  I've never
seen him answer anything in his own words or dots.

sentences you have ever posted were copied from somewhere else.
