Jules - 11 Aug 2006 15:22 GMT Just got back from visiting granddad, he was just finnishing his dinner
He looked fine, said he was happy and when i walked in he saw me and smiled and shouted its my grandson...that made me happy, we then spent some time outside with the dog but it soon went cool so we went inside, all the old ladies liked Arthur and stroked him.....the dog that is.
As soon as i got there, the a.s manager came to me, she asked me to pay for my granddads hair cut and choropodist (or how ever its spelt) as my granddad had no money and his son, my bastard of a father had not been and paid....
I have taken some pics from earlier here, theres a few of me last night before i went into the city.
You can see how happy A & A are together.

Jules - 11 Aug 2006 17:25 GMT Hi John
I enjoy spending time with my granddad, so does little A, one next week if the weather is warmer and dry i will take granddad out for a bit of dinner, even if its sat eaten in the car while little A runs around the woods.
Years ago when i was too ill to drive but granddad did he would pick me up every Thur and we would grab some food and take the dog out, i think its time to do that again.

Looks like the three of you had a great time! The idea of picking him up and going out just like the three of you used to do is a GREAT idea!
Have fun!

I am going to see him tomorrow too

I'm sure your Grandfather we'll have an excellent time!
Have fun!

Whealton > Charles Whealton @ pleasedontspam.com Well things dont look too good now, i spent a hour with my granddad earlier, told him the plans for this Thursday, told the staff so they put it in the dairy but on my way home i had a blow out, i managed to not hit anyone but i think my car is just about wrote off, at least off the road for a month......destroyed 2 wheels, suspension, so i guess the steering has had it too, i only ended up hitting the kerbside at about 20 as i slid into it, but not nice......As it is my granddad is outside of my city so until i can think straight tomorrow im not sure what i am going to do.

Jules: It sounds like it MIGHT be more cost effective to get another used car (depending on what you were driving).
I'm sorry to hear that. Don't forget notify the home and your Grandfather of what happened. Hopefully you'll be able to figure out a way to get up there and see him in the meantime. I know that may be easier said than done.

Whealton > Charles Whealton @ pleasedontspam.com I am going to give them a call tomorrow (well today now) i should be ok getting there once a week, but i hope to borrow a car from a friend so i can still take him out later in the week for the day.

Sounds great, Jules. And good luck on getting the car fixed (or getting another one). Hopefully it's not as bad as it seems.

Jules - 14 Aug 2006 23:45 GMT > Jules wr > > > > > [quoted text clipped - 36 lines] > Charles R. Whealton > Charles Whealton @ pleasedontspam.com thanks, i need to do something quick, having had a close look at the car, its repairable over time, say 3 months if i can get some friends to help me, but i cant afford the labour at a garage...so i think i will have to get something quick then if i can put mine in storage for the time being

When I was younger, I always shoveled out thousands on cars and they were never dependable (not your case, I know), while my friends shoveled out hundreds and they ran forever while my friends beat the heck out of them.
Hopefully you could find one like my friends used to get - not a lot of money, but runs great and would be less than repairing your own.
