I just talked to my dad and my sister out in California, the ones who
have had the happiest impression of Mom's condition, and been sure she
could go into a nice assisted living situation.  Dad was changing his
clothes to go out to dinner with Mom, when Mom walked out of his
apartment and disappeared.  The police found her in a Dairy Queen a
block or two away.  Too, they've been told that assisted living will not
take her.

They've suddenly decided that a locked-door Special Care Unit sounds
like a good idea.  I'm sorry they had to get the idea in this harsh
manner, but I'm glad they finally picked up the clue phone.  Now we can
all move ahead.

Dana, I am so glad they realize.
Also glad it wasn't worse.
Best to you, and goodnight!

'Ya know what, Dana?  Things could have been a heck of a lot worse.
And sometimes it takes a dose of reality to finally get through to
people.  At least your Mom was OK at the end of the ordeal and that's
what matters.

Good luck...

I'm glad that things have worked out, and I must say, this
is one of the best titles for a thread that I've seen in a long
time.

I wish my clue phone would ring more often.  I spent the
day today working on a computer problem and was in
desparate need of a clue.  Finally got one from Google -
that inexhaustible source of hidden clues.
