His mind, that is.
Diagnosed nearly two years ago and now the first 'sign of the times' has
appeared. He is convinced that mom is cheating on him after 50 years of
marriage. Claims to have walked in on her while she was having sex with
another man. Constantly harasses her about her sexcapades with multiple
men.
He is so far out of character that I wouldn't have believed that he would
say such things had he not called me every hour or so to complain about her
adultery.
He has driven her away from home for the second time this week. The first
time was for two nights. Who knows how long she will stay away this time,
but she will be back.
He has been taking risperidol (1mg) daily for almost a year. It has been
excellent in keeping his aggressive behavior at bay, but now he is over the
top with this paranoia. I will talk to the doc on Monday, but I would like
to know if your experiences tell you that he will probably have his dosage
increased. Or if he might be prescribed another.
Thanks for your feedback.
