His mind, that is.
Diagnosed nearly two years ago and now the first 'sign of the times' has
appeared. He is convinced that mom is cheating on him after 50 years of
marriage. Claims to have walked in on her while she was having sex with
another man. Constantly harrasses her about her sexcapades with multiple
men.
He is so far out of character that I wouldn't have believed that he would
say such things had he not called me every hour or so to complain about her
adultry.
He has driven her away from home for the second time this week. The first
time was for two nights. Who knows how long she will stay away this time,
but she will be back.
He has been taking risperidol (1mg) daily for almost a year. It has been
excellent in keeping his aggressive behavior at bay, but now he is over the
top with this paranoia. I will talk to the doc on monday, but I would like
to know if your experiences tell you that he will probably have his dosage
increased. Or if he might be prescribed another.
Thanks for your feedback.

Oh, dear God. I totally sympathize. This is exactly where we are with
my mom -- not accusations of adultery, but hallucinations of stuff that
simply never happened, and accusations that bear no resemblance to reality.

I am *so* sorry.

I don't know, but if whatever they give him is successful, even a
little, I'd sure like to hear about it.

I will most definitely let you know.

James, I recall my mother in law was taking risperdol twice a day, one in
the morning and another in the evening at one point. That dosage was
decreased over time, because as her abilities declined, so did her
delusions.
