Hi all
Thanks for your messages

O have seen him twice today, first time wasnt so good, he looked more
himself (well enough so i could recognise him) but he had been violently
sick

I have been back and just got home, they settled him down for the night. I
spoke to the ward sister who said he had been for physio today and had done
well, they said his heart rate shot sky high, they monitord him but as yet
do not know what it was.

I asked if he had any other visitors today but teh staff said no, they only
recognised me going.

I am hoping to take him a big pic of Arthur the dog tomorrow.

He seemed happier when i left, i helped him with his drugs and he knew who i
was, where he was etc and the nurses had said he had now settled in. He
managed to walk to the toilet with a frame alone....

Thankyou for your support, hes the greatest man i have ever known and owe
him so much.

Hi Jules,

Your love for your grandfather and Arthur the dog
lights up this dreary newsgroup. Thanks for sharing
your life with us.

Hoping for a speedy recovery...

Hi John, we havent spoken for so long, how times flies.

At the hospital i always call my granddad 'pop' always have done....the
nurses always say your sons here.....earlier the staff nurse said not to
worry too much, as she could see my concern, and i told her he was my
granddad but raised me with my nan, i had hurt them so much when i was
younger, esp as a teenager, bad things, but they always forgave me and tried
to make sure i was brought up right, they did so much and got so little in
return from me.

Tomorrow  i am taking him a foto of Arthur to have by his bedside, when my
nan was alive and they used to dog sit for me, when nan had cooked a meal
they both would be waiting (as my nan was a great cook), then when it was
ready nan would shout 'Arthur, dinners ready' and they both would run in the
kitchen!! Arthur the dog always got a plate full as my nan cooked a portion
for him....he really loved my nans Cheese omletts!!

The nurse in charge said his physio went ok today but it tired him out.

Take care John

Sounds like you may have been as crazy as I was
in my younger years. My mother would say..."If you
live to be 25, it will be a miracle!"

You are a fine son Jules. Keep up the good work!

Hang in there Jules.  When your grandpa is strong enough maybe you can
take Arthur to see him.  When our son was at Radcliffe Infirmary, the
nurses (sisters) were thrilled when we asked if we could bring our 4
month old boxer to see him---outside, of course.  Pets are wonderful
healers.

Always,

Char
