Hi, everyone,
Has anyone had any experience with stem cell therapy clinics operating
outside the U.S.? (ACT, EmCell, Medra, etc.)
I'm a researcher at CBS 2 in Chicago, and we're looking for a local
angle on stem cell therapy clinics, people in Chicago who might have
had some experience with them, positive or negative.
If you're interested in speaking with us about this (we won't use your
name or information without your consent, of course), please contact
us!

Emily,
If you're doing a TV news story I presume you won't be able
to say anything about what you've learned until after the story
comes out.
However, when you can publish your results, I hope you'll
post something here in this newsgroup - perhaps a link to
where we can see your story via webcast or read a transcript
or summary.
You may find people who think they have been helped
by stem cell treatments, but I hope you won't base your
story solely on anecdotal evidence. Personal stories of
success with unproven treatments can be based on
hypochondria ("I was cured of cancer", but it turns out
that the patient only thought he had cancer), placebo
effect ("I feel great after the treatment", and three months
later the patient is dead) and outright lies ("This doctor
cured me of alzheimer's disease", but the patient is a liar
paid by the doctor, or the patient never existed and the
doctor wrote the testimonial.)
If a quack doctor treats 1,000 patients and 5 of them do
well, or seem to do well, guess which 5 patients will be
cited on his website and in his glossy brochure!
I don't know anything about the stem cell clinics. When I read
your post I did a search on the web and came up with
http://www.alfredtrsapsemd.com/, a commercial outfit attempting
to get licensed in Nevada. Their website looks to me like
outrageous quackery intended to suck money out of sick
people and soon-to-be widows and orphans.
But, what do I know.
