Next oldest Sis came by with her husband this morning. Said Mom slept
real good last night and is calming down a lot. :-) Said they gave her
something to sleep on about 5:30 yesterday evening and she slept most of
the night-only waking up now and then and she seemed a lot more
physically comfortable,so that was real good to hear. :-) And that the
nursing home staff changed Mom's position every two hours;but she would
go back to sleep soon after that.  

And I can't see anything in the way of my buying oldest Sis's van next
week! :-) Found out yesterday that a niece of ours and her husband were
interested in it;but they would have to sell their present vehicle to
have the money for it. And niece's Mom and Dad came by today and let me
know niece thought I had lost interest in buying that van;but OK with
her that I hadn't. So no problem there. :-)

I had lost interest sort of. Thought I had to have another truck and was
putting off,not putting any personal effort into looking for one. But
yesterday evening it hit me that I didn't have to have another truck.
The one I have and the lawn mower and trailer will take care of any
hauling,etc. I need to do around here. And it also hit me yesterday
evening that I needed a better vehicle to go in to see Mom! 10 to 15
miles to the nursing home,the old truck running good; but not sure how
long it would do that given I would need to drive it a lot more now and
it gets only 10 miles to the gallon on gas and boy does that add up
quick with the price of gas nowdays! LoL

And I can have a problem turning loose of money even when I have it for
something like this. LoL It's just $3500.00;but to me that is a lot of
money! :-) The most I've ever paid for a vehicle in my whole life was
around $1100 for my present vehicle and that about 12 years ago! :-) But
yesterday evening I thought about the price of new cars and trucks and
it hit me that what Sis wanted for her 6 year old van was cheap compared
to that! LoL So I've breathed a sigh of relief,that I didn't put off too
long,deciding to buy it. :-)

And no rehab on the weekend;but sis said Mom will start back in on that
next Monday.

And oldest Sis told me yesterday that she hated going to the hospital or
nursing home;but she did go to sit with Mom a bit yesterday evening. And
I solemnly told her before she left that there was onething she would
really have to watch out for-the old men there that were still rather
frisky!LoL Kinda like teasing her that way because all her life she has
been so precise about somethings and it always came as a shock the time
or two that she even talked or hinted at anything sexual!LoL So I like
to tease her a bit now and then when I get the chance to. :-)

And I don't mind the hospital so much;but I've also been bad about not
liking to visit relatives at a nursing home. I think I just hate seeing
some people in certain conditions,knowing that there really was nothing
that could be done about such except to keep a person as comfortable as
possible. And no doubt I would rather ignore,as much as possible,the
fact that I or the people closest to me,could end up that way. Sometimes
I wonder how many people face that,think about it a good deal,before
they really are forced to by circumstances in their life that are beyond
their control?

I still find myself sitting here in the living room and sometimes
thinking I should be able to see Mom lying over in her bed close by. And
at times I look over there and it still comes as a surprise that she's
not there,as it seems she should be.

And things are slowing down a bit now. Will be easier to go someplaces
and do somethings next week when I get the other vehicle. But right now
I find that I'm just not sure what to do next? Lots to do, that I could
do;but just not used to having this much time on my hands and being able
to think,well I can go do this or that and not have to think about
checking on Mom now and then. Not having to worry that she might get
into something or hurt herself while I'm out working in the yard or this
and that around the place. Hard to shift gears so soon and get it in my
mind that I don't have that concern/worry right now. That I can go out
and do this or that or even jump in the truck and go here and there and
do whatever.

Just some rambling thoughts here about this and that. :-) And here it is
12 noon and my stomach is reminding me that I haven't ate yet! LoL
Better go take care of that in a bit! LoL
