Not Happy

Not happy about something that happened last week. The lady that stays
with Mom, through a local home health care, was supposed to be here for
around 15 hours Monday through Thursday. She didn't come that Monday nor
the rest of the week either. Got ready to go to town three days running.
Finally figured she much really be sick-have the flu or something bad?
But was getting upset that she didn't at least email me. So got to the
end of the week and a brother or sister said they would call the home
health care this last Monday and see what was going on? Well, those
people didn't know why the gal wasn't coming either? And I just thought
she would show up sometime this week and there would be some sort of
explanation. Found out from my sister this evening that the gal in
question had quit her job at the home health care we use and had gone to
work for another home health care provider;but she didn't see fit to
tell her boss or us what she was doing. And something else that bugs
me,she didn't turn in the 3 keys I gave her-one of which is for the
deadbolt on our front door.

The good part is our home health care is looking for someone to take her
place. Just don't know when they will get someone? And will have an aunt
or one of my sisters stay with Mom later this week so that I can go
grocery shopping. One sister and brother have brought some stuff;but we
need a whole bill of groceries.

One other thing that I just as soon not have;but I will get paid for the
hours this gal wasn't here,so that will be about $150 before taxes and
such are taken out. And the way I'm feeling right now,I think I will
take that money and splurge on myself for something! :-) That is,I plan
on that whenever I do get to go shopping! LoL Just not sure yet what I
will spend it on? But I'm sure I will think of something! LoL

And worse news than any of the above today. Just found out one of my
favorite cousins has passed away recently. I knew he had some sort of
stomach cancer;but had heard through the family grapevine that it was a
very slow kind. So had thought he would be around for a good while yet.

Too,was upset at how his brother,a preacher, told us about this today
when he came by. He had to make mention that of course we knew the
lifestyle his brother had lived. Yeah,we knew, the guy was gay and he
lived with his male spouse for around 35 years. Which is a sight better
than some guys I know, when it comes to them and their marriages. Like my
deceased cousin's brother who didn't bother to mention that he had once
got a gal pregnant, didn't marry her and didn't support his child by her
either. I guess my cousin didn't know I knew that;but then he should
know that just about everything in the family, sooner or later, makes it's
rounds through our family grapevine! :-) LoL

End of griping and letting off steam. :-)

Gad!  That would have to be frustrating!  I hope you intend to change the
locks?

Well, there's one upside!  Go hog wild and treat yourself.  :-)

A 35 year relationship is an accomplishment for anyone!  Family has the
longest memory, nothing _stays_ a secret -- it eventually will come out.

Hope it gets better, look on the bright side -- you should be seeing the
first tomatos of the season soon and you could make some fried green ones
too!  Any chance of getting catfish to fry with it?

Ronny:
Oh yeah, will definately change that front door lock!
And glad I won't have to change the other two that are on the inside of
the house. In fact,I can put the front door deadbolt lock on the
kitchen door.

I think, when I have the chance to,I might go to one or two farm stores
in town and look at the baby chickens and such. :-) I've looked
before;but never bought. Just what I "need",more poultry! LoL

Onething I miss is not being able to find out somethings about family
and neighbors from Mom.

Ronny:
Hmmm,I could get catfish even if I have to buy that!:-)

BTW,my oldest Sis was telling me last week she was wanting to put 100
channel catfish in our farm pond here,if it was allright with me. They
would cost $55. I told her I could pay for that;but she said no;she
could pay half and another older brother could pay half. So,I guess I
better shut up and let her do what she wants on this! LoL

Hmmmm, noticed the other day that a new rod and reel like the old one I
have and like, just costs around $25. :-) And when the new home health
care lady does come,I will have to start out right and make sure this
one puts her time in. Can't let this one slide like I did the last one.
Then sometimes 4 hours off for me will give me plenty of time to drive
a few miles down the road to a very nice fishing spot. :-)

Wouldn't that still put a lock on the outside that she has a key to?
Although you could have a locksmith re-key it so the old key she has didn't
fit.

or you could consider it "bug patrol" for parts of your garden.  Unless you
get guineas, they would be the security patrol.  :-)

Big sisters are like that.  :-)

Sounds like on site recreation to me with a great dinner at the end.  The
great thing about fishing for catfish, it doesn't take a lot to get them
interested.  All the bait has to do is smell God-awful and the catfish are
happy with it.

Glad you're back online!

I know what you mean about the nasty inferences about being gay. My
husband has a cousin who is about to turn 94. She was married once to a
man, briefly, in 1940, and then took up with female family friend she'd
known for some time. They lived together until Dot died last year -a
happy faithful partnership had lasted almost 65 years. I mean,
seriously, isn't that kind of enduring love something to celebrate,
rather than denegrate?

They were a wonderful pair - they became the hub of a huge extended
family, and were just the kindest, most stable, interesting, fun,
helpful, hilarious pair anyone could wish for as family members. I'd
take those two any time over many family members with whose lifestyles
I do have moral issues with (i.e. spousal abuse, moving in and out with
partners like changing socks and dragging kids with them - all with
different fathers, drug and alcohol abuse, child neglect, blah, blah,
BLAH!)

That's one of the reasons I find the outcry about "protecting the sanctity
of marriage" so hypocritical.  If we didn't have such a high divorce rate, I
could at least believe that the outcry was sincere.  But geez, stable and
sound relationships can only benefit a society.  God knows we don't have
enough of them now.

When I see what same-sex couples (that have been together for decades) go
through, with critical illnesses like Alzheimer's or a terminal illness,
it's a shame.  OTOH, I've seen a few straight couples that I thought
shouldn't be allowed to remarry anyone without requiring the prospective
spouse to sign a full disclosure statement.

Something like:
"I acknowledge that if I'm the 3rd woman that this man has left a previous
wife for, the odds aren't good that he'll hang around long enough to see the
kids out of elementary school.  I hereby swear not to be stinky about it
when the inevitable happens" -- signed, the other woman

Or how about "I hereby attest that I met her in a honky-tonk and she was too
drunk to stand then and I haven't seen her sober yet.  Therefore I solomnly
swear I won't be surprised when she doesn't turn out to be a June Cleaver
wife" -- signed Mr. Honky Tonk Man

Ronny:
That type of love was just what I have been talking about to a few
people in another group;but several there will not have it that two gay
men or two gay women can have that sort of love for each other. And
when they say such, among other things,I just tell them they're wrong on
that.

Ronny:
It does amaze me at times, how some people can talk down about
others, when they have no room for bragging. And it's way past
irritating to have some people like that talk down about you when they
know so little about your life;but they certainly seem to assume they
know so much! Ah well! LoL

does the home health care not send someone else if their person doesnt show
up for work?  i am guessing you will have to spend some of hte $ on changing
the locks, if this woman has no qualms about doing what she did, then who
knows what else she might do?

Ronny:
Will have to buy another deadbolt for the front door. The other two are
inside door locks,so won't have to change those.

On the other part, our home health care simply didn't know she had
missed that next to last week until we told them the following Monday.
I just kept putting that off thinking she must have had a good reason
for not being here. And I just kept thinking she would show the next
day for sure. Boy,was I ever wrong! LoL And the gal didn't inform them
that she'd quit,so they just figured she was still working.

And I wouldn't think they would send someone out if a worker just
missed a day or so due to illness or some type of personal emergency.
They might send someone else out if the employee called and told them
they were going to have to be off a day or two? But sometimes,I don't
think they could because no one would be available. Just not enough
workers.

They're looking for someone for Mom now and I noticed they had an ad in
the local paper last week where they were also looking for another home
health care worker for a couple of people in another part of our
county. And the good news is oldest sister told me yesterday that she
thought they were going to send a lady out Monday to stay with Mom;but
it may very well be just for one day a week until they find someone
else?

Was good to get off yesterday while Sis stayed with Mom a bit. She
couldn't stay long though because she was headed for Dallas,Texas to
see her new grandson.:-) So I got off to town Saturday at 7:40am and
got back by 9. Managed to make it to 4 stores too! LoL The tobacco
shop,Wal Mart,Lowes and the farm store. So got my little cigars, lawn
mower grass catcher, groceries and bird feed. Boy,did I ever make a
flying trip! LoL And when I got home Sis was out front raking up and
burning leaves and small limbs!:-) And Mom was still asleep. Then after
Sis left I got more leaves and limbs up and burnt and got the yard
mowed. And somewhere in there,I also got a nap and ate. :-) LoL So
everything went pretty good yesterday, except for the fact that I was
way past worn out last night! LoL
