I read here daily but havent posted a lot since we moved Mum to the
hospital close to us.The rest of the squamous cell carcinoma was
removed beautifully and cleanly by our Dr and all the remaining cancer
was removed so that is a blessing.
I havent had any care issues since we moved her Dad and I have a small
issue over her evening meals which we are in the process of trying to
resolve
I do perhaps notice more of the decline seeing Mum more often I guess
but that is to be expected as others who have walked this path before
me would well know what this is like
Kind regards
Michelle

Glad to hear that your doctor took good care of that cancer, Michelle. I
am also glad to hear that your mom is doing well locally, where you can see
her often.

Thanks for the update Michelle! I was relieved to read about the successful
treatment of the tumor.

Geting her to your doctor was certainly the best thing you could have done.
So glad he was able to remove the cancer completely. Hope your mom will
continue to do well.

That's good news Michelle. After the wound heals make sure the facility has
your mom put a good sunscreen (25SPF or better) on where the squamous was
removed every time she is in the sun for more than a minute. The nurse or
attendant may have to be responsible for making sure this gets done but any
fresh scar or area of a previous skin cancer needs sunscreen protection from
now on. One mild sunburn could be bad news. best, AW
