At the weekend i bought 13 huge Valentines cards to send to Anett in
Germany, which spells out her whole name and  one letter from ICH LIEBE DICH
and the last one has a message from me, bought her a heart i love you cuddly
toy, candles, smelly stuff, heart shaped sweets and a huge blow up balloon
with i love you one.....

Packed it all after spending hours yesterday printing and cutting, writing
on each envelope and message inside and this morning went to the post
office.

Total came to £29.05, which is about 45 bucks i think, but the woman behind
the counter said if i could do them in 2 parcels it would be much cheaper,
so spent half a hour packing them in 2 parcels, while a huge que of people
wonderd what the hell i was doing with all this stuff.
Anyway packed them in 2 and came to £18 as it was just under 2kilo each
rather than 1 at 4.5 kilo. as the first box was quite thick.

I asked for some 'nice stamps' rather than a printed price sticker and no
jo,e the woman gave me a huge sheet jsut for one parcel, i stuck them all
on, about 30 then she she no there was another full side.......

After all this was done i was ready to pay, so i put in my bank card (having
been there for nearly a hour) and i joked wouldnt it be funny if my bank
said i had no money in and she said she would kill me if it did that.

Well guess what happend........

Card declined, please visit your bank was the message on the screen.

Anyway went to the bank about 5 min ago, got my statement.....there wasnt
enough in!!! I forgot i had to take out my last 50quid to repair my pc from
last week. I thought i had about 30 quid left in but no only 7

I had to apologise to the woman at the P.O, said i would go back tomorrrow,
well i said end of working day today but i cant. They ahd rung it through
the till etc, so there computer is going to be down at the end of the day.

I would have had enough money if i just bought the valentines cards i had
intended, but i couldnt resist getting her all the other things too, plus
with the extra wight to post it.

I felt such a idiot.

Well i guess i will look back at this in the future and laugh. My Sat day
job boss said it was a complete waste of money as i bought them at the
weekend on my way to work and it seemed i was the only one there who
actually decided to send a card to someone, they all thought doing things
like this was a waste of money.

Oh the 3 old women at the PO said it was a really nice thing to do, and when
i unpacked the parcel, i held up the huge envelopes that spelt  A N E T T
K L U P S C H ! they thought it was pretty sweet.

Well i hope they will finally get posted tomorrow, and hope they dont go
missing in the mail......

Awww Jules!   What a bit of bad luck!   Well here's hoping it arrives on
time anyway.....she is going to be so surprised when she gets all that.

I am packing up all the stuff I will be needing on my trip.   Rather than
lug a suitcase to the airport, I ship it ahead of me and avoid all the
airport hassle.

It would get there in plenty of time, 3 days max for small packets, send
them all the time.  maybe i should mail myself to Germany to save the
airfare!!  Hope yours doesnt get lost enroute.

I am insuring it and shipping it three day air.
Should be OK with online tracking and all that.

Last time we flew together, the airline lost the suitcase and had to deliver
it a day later.   That was the last time I trusted those guys.   I ship it
by UPS.  It always arrives safely and on time.
