I am a 41 year old male who has had a life-long problem with something
that is akin to severe Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). I've been on
the usual ADD drugs, and recently trileptal, but nothing has worked. In
addition to the usual ADD symptoms, it seems that the simplest of tasks
are confusing and I have problems remembering and communicating what
people have just told me. Because I'm just 41 and look and act normal
in every way, people in work and life situations don't make allowances
the way they would for someone who is truly suffering from AD.
Usually, they're impatient and I get the impression that people think
that I'm a bit 'dim'.

It's hard to exaggerate the extent to which this condition is holding
me back.

So my neurologist recently recommended that I start on Namenda, which I
start today. I just wanted to know whether there are other non AD
people out there who are on this drug and what their experience with it
has been.

thanks-

Hi,  I noticed that no one has replied to your posting, but I wanted to say
that it isn't unusual that people might not see it, since this group is for
the support of people who care for sufferers of alzheimers disease, not ADD.
Don't lose heart, keep looking for a more appropriate venue, maybe someone
can relate to your situation elsewhere.
